The beta of cmud will be released tomorrow, zugg's post on his forums:
Hey, I can *finally* post a REAL ETA for CMUD!
As mentioned over in my personal blog, I have finally gotten CMUD to a point where I can release the first beta version. The planned release is for 11:00AM Monday, June 12th (Mountain time). That's 10am Pacific, 1pm Eastern, 6pm GMT.

Basically, it's the new version of zMUD. In a nutshell, the developer of the ZMUD app wants to take advantage of new features of Windows and zMUD was designed to be run on Windows 95 and up. Now he's doing a major overhaul to the system to take advantage of modern computers.

I am drooling over CMud.
I am most defintlly going to be making a Lusternia Skin/theme based off the nexus client. If thats allowed ofcourse.
Also, theyr new server technology will be great for people selling and buying systems.

Depending on the demand i may switch to cmud entirely for my system, depends on how many people will be getting it etc.
Daganev2006-06-12 00:48:26
I'm going to be switching tommorow
Asarnil2006-06-12 02:09:47
Murph, if you don't have cmud support, I will go over there just to decapitate you with a sharpened linux livecd.
Laysus2006-06-12 10:13:58
Any word as to how well it functions on windows 2k?

I would advice you to wait untill he goes out of beta for that. The mapper and database system isn't supported yet, and only one script language will be supported at the moment
http://forums.zuggsoft.com/index.php?page=3&mode=cat&cat=23
will however tell you what script language is supported and how to make zmud systems compatible with cmud.

Except that "one script language" he is supporting is the new zscript. And he might as well get it now (especially when I will buy it for him in a couple of weeks when my credit card gets home (she is on vacation) to try and get all the little things down pat.
I will be probably be buying a key for Zarquan too if the lazy bugger ever decides to be active on Lusty again.

I'm active on Lusternia. I admit that I don't login every single day... Actually, I've been waiting for CMUD so I can re-write my Lusternia scripts with it. Some of the stuff I want to do in CMUD won't be possible until the beta period ends and all the features have been added, but I'm really looking forward to the new scripting stuff.

yes so am i, especially if he gets his act together interface wise so i can have my compass work properly, as well as being able to have more triggers to tighten up the curing since it'll be faster
Riv2006-06-12 14:16:19
I've already got my one license ready because I purchased Zmud a month back just to have the free license key and help out Zugg. Then I've got my original half-price zmud key too. I was hoping he'd let us install onto a portable usb drive, but apparently it's a no go... gonna be interesting to see how you have to deal with having multiple computers running it. Anyone that's used the new Zmud licensing know how it treats multiple computers?
Unknown2006-06-12 15:20:42
If he does use the same scheme for the CMUD licensing that he now uses for zMUD, you'll have no troubles at all installing it on multiple machines.
Unknown2006-06-12 17:05:44
It's available for download already.
Edit: And it's horrible.

I can't seem to get my triggers to work at all now
Daganev2006-06-12 18:26:27
Did you read this?
http://forums.zuggsoft.com/modules/mx_kb/k...page=3&refpage=
it tells you how to make your zmud scripts work in Cmud.
should also look at this if you have guages in your scripts.

I can't get any settings change to work.

My Cmud review.
It has a much nicer colour interface than Zmud.
and it... no wait that's about it.
