I have two very important questions to ask Telepaths, or those familiar with Telepathy. All others, don't even bother posting.
1) What are some good combinations for afflictions to use on other people by yourself, or while in groups?
2) How many lessons is it roughly from Dominate to Mindblast. I just purchaced 100 credits via cash, and I wanna plan where my credits are gonna go.

Halluncinations/Epilepsy/Mindblast

Paralysis/Stupidity/Psychicpush - To get them off your case for a bit.
Stupidity/Mindblast/Dominate Sip Choleric - to lose Love effect
Stupidity/Mindblast/Dominate sip vitae - to lose their power.

Ysuran, Mugwumps are frogs. A salamander would, if anything, be a Dracnari.

Wrong. Grooks from Achaea are Frogs. Mugwumps are Amphibians, which include Salamanders. The Mugwump on the website is definitely not a frog.

Interesting combinations:
Halluncinations/Epilepsy/Mindblast
Phobia/Amplifyphobia/Mindblast- Very nifty in small groups for spliting folk up
Alteraura/Amnesia/Mindblast
Paralysis/Stupidity/MindblastStaple attack in groups when you want to hinder them as much as you can and kill them fast
Stupidity/Mindblast/Dominate sip vitae - to lose their power.
Remember you can cast illusions while off psi balance and you can chuck in two or three illusions before you recover from one mind blast easily so you may as well do it.

related question:
does each telepathy skill take a different time, or is it affected by what channel you use?

The timer on psionic skills is from the channel you use them on. Sub is 4 seconds, super is 6 seconds, and id is based on what % of your max ego you're at.

Whats more important to a Telepath, INT or Charisma?
Also, what role does Charisma play for a TP?

Charisma, you silly girl.

Elaborate, you silly boy.

I'd say int. As far as I know, cha only affects how much ego you've got, though it may affect mindblast.
Jack2007-08-28 04:42:07
More ego = more mindblast damage. But that's ego, not charisma, so blessings and high level and mindlink all factor in. I'd still say int is more important, though.
Unknown2007-08-28 15:26:45
Really, both are relatively important, but neither is vital. Higher charisma means you can debate better (which is useful when going for mindburst), and gives you higher max ego which means your id channel will usually work a little bit faster.
Higher int won't affect combat a whole lot if you focus on telepathy channels. For the most part, the only int-based ability most telepath geos use is staff. I don't know if mindblast is based on cha or int, but I've never heard about it being based on current ego. I suppose I wasn't a telepath for all that long, though, so I never worked out the details on those things.

If mindblast isn't based on ego, it used to be. That's the whole point of Hivemind.

I'm 90% sure mindblast is now solely based on int.

When the illithoids first came out I think it was Roark who said that the code was based on max ego. Or at least that it should be. I recall a note of confusion in the post.
Shryke2007-08-30 05:01:50
You're talking about ID balance.
It's based off current ego v max ego, so if you have over max ego, like Illithoids can, you get insane ID balance, tis all..
