Preface:
Battle in Limbo.
I couled Malicia's scimitar, and retrieved possession of it.
The sword was not an artifact, but had awesome stats.
She asked me for it back.. a little back and forth talk, then.......
===========================================================================
You tell Lady Malicia La'Saet, Grand Inquisitor, "How much did the sword cost you."
Malicia tells you, "A whole lot."
Malicia tells you, "I didn't make it."
You tell Lady Malicia La'Saet, Grand Inquisitor, "I'll tell you what."
Malicia tells you, "..yes?"
You tell Lady Malicia La'Saet, Grand Inquisitor, "I cannot simply return it, being who you are, and yet I cannot keep it because of class and character."
You tell Lady Malicia La'Saet, Grand Inquisitor, "So I will make a deal with you."
Malicia tells you, "I hope it proves beneficial to us both then."
You tell Lady Malicia La'Saet, Grand Inquisitor, "I will return your scimitar on your word that if I die on prime and am in the position to pray, you will see to it that I get a soul rezz two times."
Malicia tells you, "... So, I have to agree to sacrifice for you?"
You tell Lady Malicia La'Saet, Grand Inquisitor, "If you are not in realms, then of course you cant do anything, but if you are, I want your word that you or someone else will do so. Yes."
You tell Lady Malicia La'Saet, Grand Inquisitor, "It wouldnt be the first time I've been soul rezzed by a paladin."
Malicia tells you, "I know that. We do act with honour. My son, the one you hate, sacrificed his life for your wife."
Malicia tells you, "I suppose you'd forget something like that."
You tell Lady Malicia La'Saet, Grand Inquisitor, "He had a rare moment, I remember."
Malicia tells you, "My Order won't look highly on this, but you have my word."
Malicia tells you, "Only twice."
You tell Lady Malicia La'Saet, Grand Inquisitor, "I consider this an equal trade. Me not giving the sword back would cost you time energy and would be stressing to a high extent, and praying would do the same for me."
Malicia tells you, "We can agree there."
You tell Lady Malicia La'Saet, Grand Inquisitor, "Very well."
You tell Lady Malicia La'Saet, Grand Inquisitor, "Aetherplex chamber."
Malicia tells you, "I'm there. Alone, of course."
You tell Lady Malicia La'Saet, Grand Inquisitor, "Yes yes im coming."
"Heh heh heh" Malicia chuckles.
Malicia removes a winged greathelm of the elysian.
Malicia performs a graceful curtsey.
You say, "Please message me with the agreement terms."
Lady Malicia La'Saet, Grand Inquisitor says, "Right now?"
You say, "Want to have this date recorded."
You say, "Yes please."
You give a scimitar with a richly decorated crossbar to Lady Malicia La'Saet, Grand Inquisitor.
Malicia has just left you message #1260.
Message #1260 Sent by: Malicia
06/21 02:53 "On my honour, as a Paladin Knight and the Voice of Lady Terentia, I
hereby offer my life unto Ixion, twice, should he fall on the Prime Plane."
Lady Malicia La'Saet, Grand Inquisitor says, "There.."
Malicia chews on her lip, deep in thought.
Malicia begins to wield a scimitar with a richly decorated crossbar in her left hand.
Malicia begins to wield a scimitar with a richly decorated crossbar in her right hand.
You tell Lady Malicia La'Saet, Grand Inquisitor, "Very well, it is done."
Malicia nods her head at you.
Malicia slips into a winged greathelm of the elysian.
Malicia performs a graceful curtsey.
**few seconds later**
<>: You say, "Haha."
The commanding voice of Terentia, the Even Bladed resounds across the firmament, "Malicia..."
<>: You say, "Nothing like making a paladin give up everything she holds dear, betraying Her Lady, and helping the Taint all at once."
Lady Malicia La'Saet, Grand Inquisitor shouts, ".. Yes, m'Lady?"
<>: You say, "HAHAHA."
<>: Rakor (from the Tainted Plane of Nil) says, "What happened?"
The commanding voice of Terentia, the Even Bladed resounds across the firmament,
"Oaths taken to a Goddess, go before those taken to mortal kin..."
Lady Malicia La'Saet, Grand Inquisitor shouts, "And what of my honour? You
taught me to live and die by my words."
<>: You say, "Malicia gave me this promise 'On my honour, as a Paladin
Knight and the Voice of Lady Terentia, I hereby offer my life unto Ixion, twice,
should he fall on the Prime Plane'"
<>: You say, "Damn I'm good."
<>: You say, "Fain would be proud."
The commanding voice of Terentia, the Even Bladed resounds across the firmament,
"You cannot swear an oath, and uphold it, if it goes against one you have
already sworn.."
<>: Fain says, "Quite the paradox."
The commanding voice of Terentia, the Even Bladed resounds across the firmament,
"Your honour suffers not in this case."
<>: You say, "I consider it a fair trade though, her scimitar was
worth what I asked of her."
The commanding voice of Terentia, the Even Bladed resounds across the firmament,
"Let it be known by My decree, that your oaths taken before Me are held to
higher standards, bound by the powers of the Elders. Released, you are, from
mortal oaths taken that could possibly go against the ones to Me."
<>: You say, "Well that Bitch is trying to nullify the agreement."
Dreadlord Murphy, Divine Wrath shouts, "If Malicia goes back on a deal, that is
dishonourable by anyone's standards. Especially if someone was honourable enough
to return her rare and expensive weapon as part of said deal."
The commanding voice of Terentia, the Even Bladed resounds across the firmament,
"Do not think to presume what My standards are, Murphy. Theft is not honourable
and oaths unto Me go before any other."
<>: Fain says, "Do inform Me if she refuses to give it back."
<>: You say, "You mean live up to her deal, Lord?"
<>: Fain says, "She will not sacrifice for you, she can not go against
Terentia's command."
You shout, "How is picking a sword off of the ground 'theft.' It was by my
character that I chose to return it to Malicia. Now, Lady Terentia, you
dishonoour Yourself and Malicia by trying to negate the agreement."
A stream of crackling blue fire sizzles across the sky.
You hear a high-pitched screaming noise and instantly a bolt of blue, crackling
energy strikes your mortal body. Your back arches as pain explodes in your
brain. Blue fire erupts through your eye sockets and mouth as you die in
unspeakable agony.
You have been slain by Terentia.
The corpse of a monstrous gravedigger falls out of your inventory.

Waiting room before the Supreme Commander's office.
An extension of the main hall, an elegant burgundy carpet sits off to the corner
of this foyer. No seats or chairs are in this waiting room, because it is custom
for one awaiting the Supreme Commander to remain standing on the carpet. A few
paintings are hung about the walls, each of them painted by a master artisan of
Magnagora. A stairwell at the head of the foyer leads upwards into the office. A
disturbing ebony chair bearing the emblem of Magnagora sits here. A sigil in the
shape of a small, rectangular monolith is on the ground. A dead gravedigger lies
here in a puddle of slime and blood that pours from a gaping wound in the
beast's chest.
You see exits leading south and up (closed door).

dishonourable by most people's standards except for Yours, Lady Terentia. There
was no theft, Malicia dropped the weapon in combat and she brokered a deal,
sworn on her honour."
=====================================================================
Some mid praying snippets:
Stagar tells you, "Well said, Ur'Commandant."
Stagar tells you, "Supreme Commander, rather. Excuse me for my ignorance there."
Not daring to believe your luck, you hug yourself and pinch your arms. Indeed,
you are alive and whole. Was your death but a dream? No, it is still vivid in
your mind, though memories of the afterlife are becoming hazy. Except one memory
lingers and nags at you. Why did Atropos say that she doubts you'll thank her
for saving you in the end?
You writhe in pain as you fall to level 95.
You sigh in frustration as you fall to the level of 1st Order of the
Hyperphysical.

What an utter bitch.
Ixion2006-06-21 03:35:33
Oh, and try to keep any flaming to a minimum.
I posted this as an example of some RP, and how that can turn out, even when you perform perfectly. I did not post this to attract any unneccesary negative comments to any divine, nor player.

I like it, you got her in a bind there. Fun RP all around, though I imagine you might be irritated ooc for losing the level, or Malicia for what happened as well.
Good fun, let's have more of it!

No one enjoys losing 35%, especially at my level where it's atrocious earning it in the first place.
Unknown2006-06-21 03:38:53
Oooh.. is that what inspired the "BABIES!" video?
Rauros2006-06-21 03:39:25
Nicely done on your part, Ixion. Shame on Malicia for her horrible RP. A Paladin should never make a deal like that, honor or not. Sacrifice should almost never be used on Tainted beings, most especially those that are at war with New Celest. The fact that Malicia is willing to sacrifice for you, Ixion, suggests that Malicia should be thrown out (and the whole La Saet family while we're at it).
Cool logs though. Murphy should so be made a Vernal.

Despite Ixion dying that was interesting. Here's how it looked from my end.
Ur'Commander Kalas Ixion, Blue Inferno booms, "How is picking a sword off of the
ground 'theft.' It was by my character that I chose to return it to Malicia.
Now, Lady Terentia, you dishonoour Yourself and Malicia by trying to negate the
agreement."
Ixion has been seared to death by the divine flame of Terentia, the Even Bladed.
(Bellator Societas): Mederrach (from the Prime Material Plane) says, "*roll*."
Malicia has been seared to death by the divine flame of Fain, of the Red Masque.

I feel for Malicia oocly. I put the clamp down on her so hard ICly, she was in a major lose-lose situation. She can post the sword stats if she likes, but it was amazingly nice.
Such is a testament to why you should support Lusternia and buy credits to greatrune your weapons. Tsk Tsk.
Edit: You'll have to be more specific, Corinthian.
Edit2: Rakor, it wasn't -too- unexpected. Read between the lines on our GTS.

now THAT is griefing
I don't think so.
And I find it amusing that Fain cares more about honor than Terentia.
Though, personally, there could have much fun had with that deal.
Ixion dies on Prime.. Malicia gathers a group of Celestians into a sealed room and then sacrificies for Ixion, putting him in an interesting position, and then repeating to make it "two" soulrezzes
Edit: Yes, and I know the soul would have to get there.. but it could be done with lots of set-up

Oh, and Coule is obviously overpowered.
If she wasn't gripped, it was her own fault.
If she was gripped, you truly have no clue how low of a fraction of a percent chance coule has to disarm someone who is gripping, Icarus.

Did Fain steal Malicia's sword back since she was forced to break the deal? (and since I doubt Malicia would hand it back willingly?)
Ixion2006-06-21 03:57:57
No, she has it still.
