Wrench?

Ok well I remember being told once that trans dreamweaving simply wasn't worth it.

So I was mopping the floors at kfc and wondering if we could have the ability to tear someones spirit from their body granting them a temporary dreamform. (<- probably already suggested)

To be able to wrench someone you would of course have to be in dreamform with them sleeping in the room. Possibly the same costs as possess, this would allow dreamweavers to temporarily force someone onto their terms. Of course Absinthe would be your best friend (especially to tanks) but the target would be effectively useless for the time that they are trapped in dreamform.

Being me and wishing dreamweavers could weave a special place in the dreamscape I was thinking that the target and weaver would be drawn into another room which the dreamweaver had to prepare earlier, it would be random (well I wish it could be defined by the weaver but...) with an object the target would have to shatter, the second they are successful they are thrown back into their body and awakened. (hehe I was imagining these rooms could also be used to hold secret meetings among people, then I remembered the probable need for a power cost... though it would be cool)

However the more realistic one is that it will just time out.

Hrm, let's see... ah

Ok I hand this over for you to rend asunder

silence... that can not be good

I don't really understand, you mean it gives you the ability to drag someone into dreamform into a single room that you have prepared earlier and they have to destroy something? I don't really know how that would work, but I do think the idea of dragging somene into dreamform is a good idea, it just needs a better way for them to escape, and it can't be one room. It has to be like a regular dreamform, only you can prepare still because you have to drag them off while they are asleep.

hehe the room thing was just me wishing dreamweavers could weave a room into the dreamscape rather than just having the normal ones.

just a dreamform is what I was going for...

That would be cool. Wrench them out, say DONE, and a buddy would come in and kill their soulless body... MUAHAHA!

I would so love to make a dream-bubble...

Or you burst their spirit... if your in your demesne they have passive damage plus that without curing

If you're dragging someone into dreamform it's got to be set up like an insta-kill akin to toadcurse.

You drag them in (under certain conditions), and then just do an equivalent of 'stomping' them 5-10 times until they die (depending on their health). Since they're inexperienced they don't have any abilities to use while in dream form, other then basic movement, and maybe racial regen.

It'd be cool if it took a large amount of the victim's willpower/mana as well, but they shouldn't have the same slow loss that true dreamers have. IC reason: They, not being trained in the ways of the Dreamform, instantly think "omfg! Must get back in body!" and expend most of their mental energy with such desperate thoughts. But, having no real idea how to become corporeal again, cannot do so. Trained dreamweavers have been taught how to control their thoughts. It is a constant strain to stay out of physical form, but we have learnt to control the natural urge for flesh.

Tada!

Non-weavers couldn't do anything in dreamform. Dreamers can deal damage and afflictions. It would be a total lock until whatever time limit expired and they got back their body. Should be easy to kill them in such a state.

...Imagine a warrior with absinthe...
If it's a willpower drain then it would be massive, lower levels wouldn't be able to stay long while higher levels would but would have higher health and more then likely be able to have absinthe ready. (though I don't know how long you have to fall asleep once you sip it)

Who told you that possess wasn't worth it? I love that skill. huh.gif

No comment, but i was told it required the same things as above and gave you control for 10 seconds or something. If your taking control of someone possibly fully afflicted(whatever that means to a dreamweaver) aside from forcing them to empty their vials or trying to get rid of their entourage, what can you do?
Unknown2006-06-28 03:03:15
Really for mages it's drop a chasm, posess, empty a vial or two, chasm eats said person.
Saran2006-06-28 03:08:02
And for druids?
Mirk2006-06-28 03:34:20
Druids get screwed, with being able to do virtually nothing with it (to my knowledge).
Plus, apparently, if you try to posses someone, you actually have to wake up, meaning by the time you have woken the other person up, you're no longer controlling their body...

Maybe there should be a skill in druidry that does something based on what third guildskill they chose?
Saran2006-06-28 03:41:59
Hence it makes more sense for us to draw them out of their body onto our playing field even though we may not hit them hard, it's time that they can't heal or cure. A sleep they can't wake from

EDIT: Though you might auto-wake when you possess...

Yeah, once you possess someone, they are instantly awake.
Unknown2006-06-28 07:43:04
When you possess, they wake up and you have full control of their body. You still have to stand and deal with afflictions if they have any, and that is what is most annoying, since every command other than sip is a balance each.

Is that a nod from my Envoy?

Which still means that handing them absinthe and possessing them to drink the whole bottle is still probably the most effective tactic.
