How about this? If you take any of the trade skills, you would gain a certain description added to your self. For example, if you took the skillchoice of alchemy, it would say in some part of your description:
_________'s hands are heavily burned from extended use of chemicals.
or if you are taking forging,
_________'s hands are hardened from a smelting iron
......
how about that?

No. People are free to write that stuff in if they want - why the heck should it be mandatory?

Shorlen's hands are covered in pin pricks and bleeding little needle marks!
Maybe a bad or clumsy tailor would want that, but a skilled one wouldn't. There's various ways someone could express, uniquely, in their description about their tradeskill if they'd want. One forger might have calluses from his hammer, another might have tiny burns from flying sparks.
The last line of Tsuki's description from somewhere around when she became an herbalist has been: The light scent of various herbs drifts around her.
By all means, hurray for incorparating realism and better descriptions ... but let it be a player choice and idea.

You can spot tailors a mile away from looking at what they're wearing.

This sounds strangely similar to the movement we had that wanted people to have their race and sex list in says and on aetherchannels, that was bad, and this is too.

If you know the splendor designs, you're set.

You mean all three of them?

I'm actually surprised there are so few splendour designs.
People, if you're a tailor, it's free to have a custom design submitted. SEND YOUR DESIGNS TO ME. (If you're in Fates' Thread, of course. Otherwise you don't matter.)
