lets see.... I'm making an Aslaran wiccan alt, mostly for just roleplay and I was wondering which commune would be better or whatever...
Vix2006-07-06 03:03:24
Totally up to you.
Both sides will say how great Seren or Glom is and so forth so you really shouldn't listen to anyone but yourself.

I think i'll go with glom, since I have never really played, non-tainted alt for more then a few days and have no idea how to be good anyway
Diamondais2006-07-06 03:10:51
Theyre both pretty fun, it depends on whether you want to play under Moons powers or Nights really. Oh, and the roleplay of the Communes vary.
Lazurus2006-07-06 03:12:20
hmm... is everyone lagging or is it just me?
Unknown2006-07-06 03:33:36
If you're going for roleplay I would, to be totally honest, go for the Shadowdancers right now.
We Moondancers are getting our acts together again but we're not up to the standard we used to be.

Go for Glom, see how you like being a Shadowdancer. If you don't, then give being a Moondancer a try if y'want.
... I ... have no idea how to be good anyway
To that, I do have to say though ... anywhere you go, you can find reasons why you're "good" or "bad" if you want. Certain areas tend to get stereotyped for certain things on a superficial level, but that's not the entirety of what they are and how folk act.

well, I choose Glomdoring, everyone there seems pretty nice, for a place called forest of no mercy

If you want to play non-Tainted, go with Serenwilde.

That's not what he meant. He put an extra comma there, sheesh.
Anyway, go for Glom if you want the roleplay. I'd go for it myself, but I'm too much of a Light-person.

I'm confused, it doesn't seem to make any sense with the comma there and if you remove the comma Verithrax seems to have interpreted it right, so what do you think he DID mean?

He's never liked being good => Glom.

(This isn't a comment on Seren/Glom, just something I was thinking when reading everyone talk about playing "good" characters.)
You know, it's interesting- but I've actually seen very few "good" characters in my time mudding, in terms of rp. For the most part "good" and "evil" just seem to be convenient labels. The fact is that a lot of the time (and now I AM thinking of IRE games) the forces of "good" are just as big a bunch of bastards, in their own way, as the "bad" guys are in theirs. I'm not sure how exactly to define rp as a "good" char...but it seems like the most common form of it is the "kill the infidels" mindset, and that only seems to reflect the ideals of "good" in that you want to destroy people who believe differently. And when that's the only distinction, it seems like whether you are good or evil depends strictly on the point of view of the person deciding. Just pondering.
Anyways, I don't know enough about Seren to say much about it, but as they say you can always make a new char if you find you don't like the Shadowdancers. Glom tends not to eat its own...we're internally focused, we don't hate everyone. Just...everyone who's not us.

I heartily agree!
Just because I'm friendly towards guild mates and not overly aggressive doesn't mean my outlook is inherently good.
I prefer to think of myself as following enlightened self-interest in the service of Mother Moon.
I would RP my vindictive side more actively but I don't have the combat skills to back it up and I don't like making a fool of myself or dieing. Maybe if I get around to a system and spend some time in the arena I'll change that. tyhough.
Verithrax2006-07-06 22:03:29
Sheesh. I was trying to spark an argument about Glom's Taintedness and you people start flinging insightful comments around, this is no fun.
Unknown2006-07-06 22:39:08
Why'd you all have to ruin Verithrax's fun??
(Which..people try to do everyday because its Verithrax.)

I think it's because Glomdoring has finally accepted its Tainted status
