Okay so me and 2 maybe 3 of my friends are planning on backpacking/hitchhiking the US next summer and we're trying to make plans on where to go, so I was wondering if anyone might be willing to put us up for a night or two some time next summer, we 3 fairly decent guys, we'd follow anyone's rules at their house, and if we are more than willing to share anything we might have with us. We want to hit as many of the states as possible and would do small jobs for room/food/money/washer and dryer. We are really hoping to make a bit of money doing this so that we might have a chance at hitting up Europe sometime in the future.

Will you be in Washington state?

Generally hitchhiking is unsuccesful in the US. I wish you luck.

Just teasing. Have you tried Creg's list though? I know my friend in berkley would love to help people backpack across the country.

We're not gonna rob anyone, but we did talk about a little bit of smuggling, but I probably shouldn't talk about that. It's just something we have wanted to do, and if we're going to do it properly we should do a bit of research and planning.

Yeah, it's actually much harder to hitchhike now than it ever was before. In ye olden days, people would pick others up, no problem. Now, not so much.

I picked up some hitchikers in Yosemite, took them across the park. but that doesn't really count.

I've had one group of three stay at my place, and a couple of hitch hikers have stayed at my friend Shaun's place, and they have the best stories and usually a fair amount of bud. We just want to have stories of our own and meet people, cuz you know the ones willing to pick you up are usually fun people.

You could come to Hawaii. We have some good hiking.
But good luck finding someone to hitchhike across the Pacific Ocean with.
