I'm thinking about going Serenwilder with a Character. I will leave previous experiences of two years ago in the past for my dislike of Serenwilde, so I want to know
If you are in Serenwilde, what you can do around?
It is obvious that the cities have more versatility because they have the outer plains to bash and easier access to Astral, but, as a Serenwilder, what you do? How do you gain Karma and power?
Also, I've been thinking that an Elf Lord with High Magic for Geburah, Bear and Flex, with a plus one in dexterity with antlers can be a good fighter. Is it good to be a Stag Serenguard?
Any other information that you may want to share?

I had a alt, but I would suggest that you take Moon for Drawdown
Gives some extra intellect for Surge, and some good stat boosters. And some handy dandy bring people back to life things. Power is gained from Water or Earth plane whichever you don't get killed on, also pixies and amongst other things. you can do anything reallyl...

I have always found it much much more easier to gain Karma and power in communes over the cities. Weevils as well as pixies/shadows are a good source of karma/power. I know people are like "oh, weevils/rats its for younger players." But really..if you're bored, then weeviling is rather...fun and its something to do. You can also, not so sure about it for Serenwilders, gather fae. Its good for power too, especially if your commune holds Faethorn, which the Wilde doesn't if I'm not mistaken. But its kind of tedious to do that, because fae aren't always around.
Oh! Exotic plants and gathering the colts is good too. I kind of think the Wilde has more to do in ways of karma/power stuff (dunno if plants or colts help with either but meh.) over Glomdoring. But that could just be me.

Nothing. We're the only org with no special bashing ground. We have horribly shitty commune quests for gold/karma. We have no supplicants to take you to level 30 in a day. We have no post newton bashing ground with free conglut. We have no water/earth planes, no easy astral access. Not really complaining, but it really stinks for our novices I was so amazed when I had a celestian alt that made it to level 45/50 before getting out of novicehood just by whoring the supplicants quest, and wishing we had something like that in the Wilde

Bear + flex = +4 str weight = +3 str. Geburah would do nothing, since +5 str weight = +3 str. Go lowmagic for yellow, I'd say.
Stag gives +1 balance recovery, double sipping, bolting, and +1 dex, but moon gives aeon, 20% resistance to all damage, +10 to all weapon stats, active healing, +1 int for surge, and moonbeam for movement. Duno which is better.

Stag members can BOND TOTEMS.
Edit:Moon members can help with resurgems, which helps with random people die while hunting moose and stuff.
Really though, do whatever you want to.

how much power does resurgem costs? How much power a month does the bonding give?

The cities tend to not like us around the Elemental planes much so we dont really have too good a way of adding power to the Nexus beyond Pixies and Scholars and the odd time we can manage to hunt the Elementals. Astral is difficult to get to, without a Cubix or Nexus in Planar you wont easily get there, though maybe Astroglide works?
You can hunt around the Tidal Flats til level 30 and then start to move up on to other places. Not really much to do for gaining levels, but Karma is Pixies and Colts, you can get gold on the oft time Abeytu gives you a pouch of spores along with Pixies.

I've been considering a Serenguard Tae'dae, but I can't make up my mind between moon or stag. I think I'll go lowmagic for yellow, as geburah won't help on top of flex and bear. Stag will help my slow balance, but I intend to be a total tank. What would be more useful for my tankiness, the resistences granted by drawdown or the healing from medicinebag? I figure that my huge health, plus level 3 sipping, plus medicinebag, would make you pretty much invincible against damage except against a group. But drawdown would make you roughly 50% resistent to cutting/blunt/cold.

Resurgem is free, but takes five people to do. Bonding a totem makes it attack enemies of the Serenwilde, it doesn't give any power.

Doesn't give power to the Moonhart tree when you bond with a totem?
And do people in Serenwilde Resurgem that often?
Vix2006-07-08 23:35:17
Totems automatically give power to the Moonhart, bonded or not. 10 power per totem every weave.
Just about every time someone dies and doesn't vitae/conglutinate/whatever we resurgem when we're able.

Well, we TRY to resurgem everyone who dies, but unless we're ready for it, we're only going to resurgem bashers. If someone gets PKed, their corpse will be destroyed before we get a coven together, so meh. But we do try to always resurge people. Who don't transmigrate. And don't conglutinate.

I wish we could destroy corpses without having to spore to a shrine and offer.

Valarien hits you with Nature Curse. You die.
I'm not sure what medicinebag does exactly, but resistances sound quite nice. Level 3 magic vulnerability sucks more than you might think. On the other hand... yeah, a little bit of extra speed couldn't possibly hurt. If one tree gives you a good way to hold someone down, I'd go for that... while it's annoying to try and take a tae'dae warrior down, there's very little to stop someone from just getting bored and walking away.
Sylphas2006-07-12 16:54:44
Moon has Shafts, I guess. You're still not going to hold them down, though. I'd go Stag. With spirit totem and medicinebag, you shouldn't ever die, unless it's something like a Rage coven. And you do get the speed boost, which would help.
Also, you'd get antlers, and I'd imagine you'd sort of kind of look like a Moonkin, and that's just cool.

yarr! hes a fast learner.
i would think moon is more on offense compared to stag for warrior archetype, and much more flexible with moon covens. Aeon is just plainly troublesome coming from warriors... If your taking a lot of damage and deepwound then he goes for aeon, more likely you'll be taking much more damage and body wounds by the time you get cured. also stat bonus to weapon is similar to low level atifact rune (i think, correct me if i am wrong). With stag, you get medicinebag, bolting, uber parade (making demesne combat much more bearable)... just my opinion though. If i make a warrior alt and really spend credits on it I'd go moonie.
Shorlen2006-08-03 19:35:51
Drawdown >>>>>> all.
Simple as that. The weapon aura is nice, and the TWENTY PERCENT damage reduction is nicer.
All you get from stag is a 30% better sip that you can't use while intered, but costs 8 power for 50 uses, a level 1 balance bonus, and stagstomp which I can't imagine being THAT good for a warrior.

Last I heard from Elryn medicine bag wasn't being influencing by racial sip bonuses, but that might have changed in the last few weeks, I'll have to ask Kalodan if it’s been fixed next I see him.
That being said, a Tae'dae with medicine bag and that lvl 3 boost would be sipping an insane amount of health. with 18 con, (I'll use just yellow in my calculations), around 1200-1700 at lvl 80. I'm so jealous as that's well over double what I sip for. Stag totem(different skill from living totem bonding) Is a huge help, either in fighting or hunting, every.. 10 seconds? 8 seconds? I forget, well it’s an all heal sip + a health sip for a few minutes, 5 I think? Lets just say I’ve never died with an ally’s totem up, even to astral creatures.
Someone like that would be a hunting machine as well. Then again drawdown+field/full plate gives nice resistance for hunting, and drawdown mana regen helps with maintaining surge as well, and drawdown int boost makes the surge boost bigger, but surge wouldn’t be of as big of use with only 10 int and 18 con(about +900 health at lvl 80). Oh, and both stag and moon give you one faster then walking mode of travel to work with, moonbeam and totem return (actually stag reduces your ‘don’t be hasty’ messages too) It's really a toss-up Guido, but I'm clearly biased.
We need more people to bond totems!
Edit:Gelo, this thread is a month old! Necro, argh! Well, guess I need to search the wilde for little Guido alts.
