Good dreams.

EDIT: To elaborate, maybe it is just us in the Serenwilde, but we don't have any of them. A few would be nice, like say, one, every now and then?
Sylphas2006-07-09 08:16:11
Yes. ANY good dreams at all, or even something neutral would be nice. I've had nothing but nightmares since forever, it seems.
Ildaudid2006-07-09 08:20:46
We don't have many either I mean tentacle monsters tearing us apart or blobs falling from the sky to kill us don't count. sleep.gif

Lusternia is meant to be a bleak place that tears all love from your already bitter, shrunken heart. You want happiness? laugh.gif

I was just thinking about sending that idea to the big guys when I noticed this topic. XD

I mean, I understand how it's easier to think up terrible dreams than blissful ones, but they could really give us a break. When we sleep, it's to rest and not to watch freakish bulbs of darkness enveloping the Star of Celest or monstrous muddy creatures from the sea coming 'for us and all our city'. Creepy...

Magnagorans have great dreams

The one where you say a sermon or something while wearing ceremonial blackrobes

the one where you eat Merian steak and elfen pudding and other crap like that

the one where you are with your friends talking and then a guard brings you some slaves and you order the to be beaten or something like that

yeah... I like those dreams

I love the Celestian dream about the man in all white laying waste to Celest. Told Daxera how much it resembled me. Don't think it helped my case...

There are a few nuetral dreams, when I played Dia in Serenwilde I recorded all the non-org ones (Serenwilde at that time did not have any specific dreams, it did not have any until after Viravain was retaken from Kethuru). Yes, theyre mostly nightmares. I can only think of one nuetral one, and tahts the one where youre standing on Avechna's Peak and you move off the mountain.

A good dream would be nice, and preferably rare to give our characters 'hope' for a better day. Magnagora has some where they rule over the city or take over several Merians and Elfen as was mentioned.

I'm pretty sure in that dream you're commiting suicide...
Diamondais2006-07-09 21:30:20
I never got that impression but now.. sad.gif good dreams please? Basin needs hope you know? Seren gets the Basin covered with the origional three Basin forest (purified!), Magnagora gets a completly Tainted Basin..or they can keep the good ones they have already... dry.gif Celest can have the four cities back in the purified states, Glomdoring can have what they always wanted. Nothing matters but Glomdoring.

Serenwilde already has a good dream. It's where you walk around a town and notice, after many townsfolk giving you awkward looks, that you are completely naked. (Insert witty point on unclothed snuggly forestals here)

No, it says that the dream is kind of a metaphor and that you jumping off is embracing the future.
Or at least that's my interpretation of it...

Fire paints the battlefield a brilliant orange, illuminating the terrified and bloodied face of your greatest foe lying helpless at your feet. You laugh long and contemptuously, drowning out the frantic prayers for mercy as you bring your weapon down to end the rivalry forever.

Darting through the trees in a merry game of tag, you watch a pair of children bounce about energetically. Climbing up the vines, hopping from wall to ruined wall and sometimes hiding behind a statue, they think nothing of the deserted and ruined city that has become their playground.

The Dark Marshall looks down on you, and the rest of the crowd before the Master Ravenwood with a calm, but pleased expression on his face. "Nothing matters but Glomdoring," he says evenly, and the reply echoes for what seems like forever, as it goes around the Basin.

The cheers are deafening as you stride down the street to the acclaim of thousands, flower petals showering down upon your head. The noise suddenly dies down as you reach the Pool of Stars, and you can feel the whole city holding its breath as you reach down to take your place among the Gods.

...bad dreams are way more fun to write.
Callus2006-07-10 09:28:49
Well, yea, that was my point. Good dreams are boring. Imagine a dream where you settle down with your family, become, say, Seneschal of Serenwilde, and lead a peaceful life.........

*sticks finger down throat*

Then you're uncreative. An uplifting dream that gives hope rather than a sorrowful one that gives despair can be well written and interesting.

Personally, I'd love a Serenwilde dream of White Hart sacrificing himself, but written such that it was uplifting instead of depressing. We recieved several depressing dreams from that event, why not a single non-depressing one? sad.gif

I'd like a Serenwilde dream where, say, city-folk are hanging from the trees by their own intestines, instead of the nice Druids. Muahaha!
Unknown2006-07-10 21:14:55
I know a few druids who deserve to be hanging from trees, strangled by their own guts. Okay, only ICly. Because I am not THAT mean.
