Hi,
I play a Celestine and have just got to the 40th level of experience. I have been hunting the water plane, toronada, and the outer mountain ranges. I was just wondering if there was anywhere else you recommend at this level as I am looking for a change.
(BTW This is my first post on the Forums, so Hello, Everyone!)
Thanks in advance.

you should test your waters in the Krokani tower... at level forty I was there already, but then again I was a Merian Lord Paladin... also stick with Starsuckers and Leeches since Power's always good
Level 40ish-60ish is kind of a drag, I think. You have reached a point where low level bashing doesn't pull it and high level bashing will kill ya
Check also the group bashing with a mage of higher level to help you around on Astral(don't do it alone as of now) and die a little bit there so you start getting the hang of it
with Krokani, Starsuckers, Leeches and Supplicants, it won't take long until you reach higher levels and solo bashing on Astral...

Interesting that you bring up solo bashing on Astral. Is such a thing possible for a Celestine? I'd love to know a good strategy for taking on linked Astral mobs by myself. When I get my symbol, I'm sure I'll have better luck than before.
Vix2006-07-09 19:20:02
As a wiccan, I have to do hit an run constantly. I get down to like 500 health after one round of hit and run.

Ok. Thanks for the advice, Corinthian.

with the symbol it would be similar to a staffed non telekinetic mage
Ceren2006-07-09 21:17:58
Not quite, with 16 int my symbol is as powerful as an imperial merian's blast.

Er....Sorry to hijack....
But what about a level 50 high elf wiccan?
Flats, moors, and swamp are barely giving a challenge, let alone experience...

If you can survive the Inner Sea, it's pretty good. Sharks and mantas break limbs so bring mending (or have the Healing cure Breaks). Mantas also paralyze so be sure to FOCUS BODY when you feel a prickling stinging sensation. Don't touch the anemones, they're nasty. Probably shouldn't touch the kelpies since they're fae nor the turtles and dolphins since they're loyal to the kelpies. Oh, and octopi give you vomiting, but the defense granted by the Maiden fae helps against it. If you don't have the Maiden you should bring choleric for that. Nymph is a really big helper against the sharks. Not entirely sure about level 50s surviving though. Probably could do it at 60.

I once killed sharks on an alt as a level 15 aquamancer merian by whoring shield If you know how to shield compulsively, sharks aren't that big of a deal.
Rauros2006-07-10 03:19:02
Sharks are very fast, and unless you have a fast recovery race, expect to be hit more than once every shield "round". Level 1 fast equilibrium should be enough to hit and shield fast enough without being hit more than once.
And I'm sorry for even bringing this up in a hunting thread, but my favorite way to "bash" will always be influencing guards/monks/etc.

Influencing is still unbalanced in my eyes - it's way too fast at low levels, and way too slow at high levels.
When talking to a novice with a clue and some credits handy, I always say to get Compliments first thing, and use that to "bash." At level 20 or so, you can take on monks, and they give about 25-30% experience each at that level.
EDIT: I honestly believe the cause of this imbalance is the lack of influencing criticals. Though, village influencing would be unbalanced with criticals.

Disable them inside villagers while they're in play.

Really? I have no trouble on Astral as long as I actually pay attention. Occasionally I'll run just when I've had an unlucky couple hits, but other than that...

Paying attention and not lagging... or running into swarms of linked mobs that SOMEONE leaves around just to irritate me. But hey, if solo bashing on astral is possible for me, anyone over level 60 can do it. Seriously. Although I must say that being able to fly helps immensely

I want to see Tervic as the First Guildmaster of the Hallifax "Golden wings horray"-guard in the modern times

i am level 45ish and im doing (or was doing) orcs no problem but stay away from warriors and elders until you are older
Estarra2006-07-16 01:24:53
If someone wants to make a list of the different areas and approximately the appropriate level for players, I'd be happy to pin it

I've found it depends entirely on race really. Warriors don't have such a problem because typical warrior races are tanky.
For example, as a Mugwump with my level 2 health regeneration ring, linked Astral mobs DESTROY me at 77 with about 3,300 health.
When I changeling into a Taurian (making a cumulative level 3 regeneration) I can bash those same linked astral mobs without even sipping generally.

I can give a general layout for Magnagorans
1-20 Newton
20-30 Tidal Flats, Grubs in Earth Plane and The Spectre Isle (My Viscanti NIHILIST alt, with cosmic fire has been bashing Spectral Women since before level 20)
30-40 Spectre Isle and Earth Plane
40-50 Spectre Isle, Earth Plane and Krokani/Aslaran
50-60 Astral + what I said
I have not passed level 65, so I can't say
