Reincarnating

I'm finding my Merian body to be waaaaaaaaaay to untanky. It's okay for bashing, but when I try PvP People drop my hp so low so fast... and I want to start bashing Astral soon, which I can do with Numen, but it is still really had and yeah... I also influence a lot. So! What it comes down to is I was thinking of going Lucidian. Their Charisma is a little low, but the extra 4 con means, a what, 40% HP boost? That'd put me well into 3k at level 67... So bashing wise, I think I'd be fine, but are Lucidians as good as Merians/better for PvP? I don't want to reincarnate into something that'll get it's ass kicked repeatedly...

(And no, I won't go Loboshigaru on principle)

I've never played a race with over 11 con, and I've done fine. You just need to hinder more.

That said, Lucidian doesn't seem that bad of a race in general.
Unknown2006-07-12 19:45:24
change to Paladin Merian and you'll get more Tanky(around 4500 at level 67)
Unknown2006-07-12 20:54:19
HP = level * (constitution*3 + 4) + 300, so...

Merians have 33 hp/level (+300)
Lucidian have 46 hp/level (+300)
Roughly 40% more, yes.

That being said, I never found Lucidians to be a powerful race. Less charisma and int than merians make them weak offensively for mages, but I guess they are alright for guardians, who would rather need eq/balance bonuses. If it's more HP you want, go for it.

health/mana/ego = 300+(3*level*con/int/cha)+(level*4)
Shamarah2006-07-12 23:30:43
I was considering switching to Lucidian myself. 2 less con than lobo but 4 more int.

If you do it, let me know how it works out.

Incorrect. Cuber is right: (((3 * stat) + 4) * level) + 300

It's the same formula, only displayed in a different way.

No difference between (2+3)*5 and (2*5)+(3*5)

laugh.gif Before you turn it down, you should try using it. That's the formula I've used throughout all of Lusternia, and it's never been off. As Cuber explained.
Sylphas2006-07-13 12:20:25
Bah. Yeah, I screwed that one up. I think I jumped to conclusion seeing level in there twice. sad.gif

I'm very strongly considering going human in the relatively near future (especially if a certain something happens, but that's secret) and I was wondering if anyone knew if there was a formula for the Evolution, and if not what some stats are at level 77.
Unknown2006-07-14 08:48:49
1 stat per 5 levels, starting from 50. Stats are random, although distributed in such a way that every level 100 human has the same statistics if they're in the same guild. But it's safe to assume that 40% or so goes to your primary stat (str/int).
Ceren2006-07-14 15:44:54
For a Celestine, Human is better than Lucidian in nearly every way if you have the levels. Unfortunately, at level 67, you don't.
Trakis2006-07-19 18:50:33
Shaeden,

I levelled from 1-73 as a human Celestine. With good greatrobes, and a life blessing (if you feel that you need it), you can tank what's on astral. This was before symbols were available, so you should be able to go a little faster than I did. If you plan on bashing to get to high levels (90+), being human is going to pay off there, especially since the time you spend on astral is limited (and that is going to be your primary source of experience).

As a human Celestine at level 70, I had 14 int, and 13-14 constitution. I think human is the way to go, since you'll be better than Lucidian in almost every way by the time you get to level 75. Sure it might be a little harder now, but it's going to pay off in the long run.

Diamondais2006-07-19 18:59:57
Humans are a really good race to play with, theyre hard to use in the beginning but they have a bit more health than most specced Magic users so it kinda works out. Youll have to use an extra attack, but you have the bit more health to survive it. Not to mention youll soon get the int to match.
Shaeden2006-07-19 19:20:47
mm, but A: I don't intend on ever leveling above 80, and B: I want to be somthing a little more rare
Sylphas2006-07-19 20:02:50
Human is actually decently rare among the general populace. Most people who play fantasy games jump at the chance to be someting other than human.

Other rare species are Dwarves and Tae'dae.
Arix2006-07-19 21:09:32
Dwarves rock
Trakis2006-07-20 02:02:28
Tae'dae. You would be AMAZING.
