While we are all waiting for Lusternia's gateway provider to get their act together, let's discuss what direction you'd like to see Lusternia go. What do you like and what do you dislike? What are your hopes and wishes?

To Vegas!

More History revealed!
I would love to have some more Divine happenings, gives me and the Order a chance to interact with Terentia! I'm really looking forward to what happens with the Orb of the Forgotten thing!
Also new skills are always nice.
But these things require lots of Immortal work and they are too busy as it is!

Ok, but seriously...
I would like to be able to learn more about the facts of lusternia, its been a long time and we havn't really learned much about the world of lusternia, we have only been given more questions.
Also, I would like to see some method of making the communities more dynamic and open to negotiations. Don't know if the admin can do anything about that, but I've always been fairly unimpressed with Lusternia's politics even though I think its "system" is the best of any of them.
I thnk the issue stems from a lack of diversity in divine pushing, or maybe too much divine influence in politics, I'm not sure.

Likes:
-Strong environment.
-Each community has a strong sense of self.
-A huge amount of exploring can be done.
-Involved Gods. (Those that play.)
-Huge flexibility of character and control of where you go.
-Massive variety of areas and the continuous release of new places to explore, with some very nice details and environments.
Dislikes:
-Wide natural(read: non-artifact) ranges in power between players that makes some people incredibly hard to kill, or makes it incredibly easy for them to kill.
-Seeming lack of world-changing events. (Though, I admit, it's not like I wish to see one every month.)
-Seeming lack of progressing the story of the Basin.
-The large losses of Gods which mean people are left in small, inactive Orders.
Hopes and Wishes:
-Perhaps to see some Ephemerals be dedicated to controlling mobs to increase immersive feelings.
-Some effects shown from the Gaudiguch/Hallifax quest, perhaps such as the time shift being reduced, and one person is freed. Something little, but to give hope to those who're still doing the quest.
-Having the Admin back up and help any player-begun RP so that consequences can come from researching it for months. Such as Soll's thing, or with Glomdoring's oath being broken but being unable to, due to mechanices, give the Serenwilde any grief for it.

I would also like to see more history appear, that is always nice. What would be really neat is that we can find areas that were in history. Maybe we can go beyond the mountain ranges and find the Ruins of Glomborolum or something.
Granted, I am not in Magnagora, but I would love to hear more about what is going on with the Ninth and the Verses.

I'm really glad people enjoy the histories! Gives me more motivation to finishing writing them!.

Players divide into two schools: 1) those who enjoy divine interaction, and 2) those who think the less seen of the divine, the better. We try to aim for a middle ground but are sympathetic to both schools of thought.

Now, why would we add new skills.......
Vix2006-07-13 16:50:07
Just not more trade skills.

I'd love to see an event that displaces an Elder god through time from before the Soulless caused the ruckus to the present time. I want to see the more personal sides of some of the gods - sort of shown by the Book of Trillilalall (however you spell it) in the History of the Elder Wars. I found that an incredibly good read. Even gods have crushes!
Unknown2006-07-13 16:51:08
Hmm....
I personally think that Lusternia is the best MUD out there, and the only reason that we're not #1 on the MudConnector is that we don't have as many people dedicated to the game as, say Achaea, which has been around for many years, but we'll get there!
I would love to see more skills come out. Maybe more skillsets. The Gaudiguch/Hallifax idea from Soll is a great idea. Also, I want the history of the Elder wars up on the website, instead of having to look in Magnagora's scribe.

Yeah! What Soll said!
Oh, and do more nice mini-fun-things, like when Charune blew the wall down, just for RPs sake.

Well, Before the Glomborolum is the title of Celest's arena room. Can't remember what it looks like right now.

With our envoy mini reports, we hope to address major discrepencies.

I think a new skillset would be interesting, but unlikely.
And I would love new areas (maybe some bubbles in cosmic/elemental space) and some more history.
It's hard to thing of something I would change because I have much love for the game

Yay for distractions!
I enjoy Lusternia a ton, obviously, though I am often frustrated to no end by the player base and how difficult it is to actually CHANGE anything via diplomacy. This is no fault of the game, so those kinds of things will have to be player driven.
However...
I'd love to see some changes to village influencing, which I'm sure is no easy feat, but as much of the world has really got the system "figured out," influencing has become more a chore of repitition than the exciting event it used to be.
I'd love to see a system that rewards good roleplay when it's exhibited in addition to simply deducting rolepoints for the blatantly stupid.
I'd really like to be able to artify (not a word, I know) my shield (because it's the only one that exists, and I feel badly having to harass its maker OOC everytime it looks like decay is on the horizon).
And I often think it would be neat to have "world summits" every so often...something that would allow city/commune leaders to discuss the events/happenings....toss out ideas for change or just bicker like crazy. Something that would -encourage- communication and negotiaions among the leaders of the basin and provide opportunities for working together.
Ok...Lusty come back now...

I want more commune vs city potential - it really just isn't plausible right now. The communes honestly have NO reason to work together, and except for the gorgog quest, no way to strike at the cities, and the cities have no real way to strike at the communes, as the Song quest is practically undoable for the cities.
Specifically, I would like an event that forced Serenwilde and Glomdoring to work together, and I don't mean that forced them into another one of those lame truces. I mean something where working together is honestly best for both sides, some threat to the forests or the Fae that they can best meet together.

Shamarah2006-07-13 17:07:44
Some kind of major world-changing event.
Also, as Shorlen said, a potential for city vs. commune conflict. The Song quest is impossible, and the necessity of alchemy prevents any kind of real conflict between cities and communes.

And the necessity for enchantments. People say they aren't necessary but just a convienience, but I'd like to see those people fight in an aquamancer demense without waterwalk, or fight a druid without cleanse, or fight as a druid without levitation.
