... How does it not make sense? It's working fine, assuming that was a wyrden forest location to begin with.

There are trees in all Wyrd locations, even water and underground. If its wyrded, it has trees.

Welcome to the Glomdoring arena. If you meld a wyrden road, river or underground location, you won't be able to climb into trees (though you can still get pulled up in them by treelife!) or cast vines. But if you forceforest, all is well. Hee.

And it's a bug that's been reported so many times in so many levels of detail that it's depressing.
EDIT: To clarify, for those of you who've never tried to be a druid in the Shadowvale, it basically boils down to being able to meld non-forest areas, and being unable to readily change non-forest areas into forest areas. Both cause significant distress.
