Hello everybody, I have played achaea for a while and I just started to play lusternia. I was wonderin what the pvp/war situation is like here. Is it active? is it fun? So far I like lusternia's set up with skills and races and whatnot. And i like the fact that there arent too many artefacts to make someone who spends thousands of dollars too overpowered.
right now i am a krokani ebonguard.

The fighting waxes and wanes. There are always village revolts about once a week, and the Wildnodes (ctf) every other sunday. Those are pvp situations that will never go away, regardless of the current state of things.
Right now, apart from the occasional raid, there isn't much conflict, but things are heating up between Serenwilde and Celest, and since Seren and Glom have been fighting rather nonstop since Glom was created, there's a chance we'll see Glom and Celest vs Serenwilde in the near future
Celest and Mag fight each other constantly, and Seren and Glom skirmish from time to time, though with Queen Maeve's decree for peace in Faethorn, our playground is really limited now.
Lusternia has been slowly (or maybe not so slowly...) been moving away from the constant conflict that graced our past towards boring monotonous peace enforced by the Admins. The recent nerfing of the conflict quests between Celest and Mag, the buffing of the Supernals/Demonlords to make them nearly unkillable (and whenever someone figures out how to kill them, it seems they are made even stronger , the decree for peace in Faethorn, the introduction of pathetic "peaceful" village revolts...
It's a really disturbing trend, and hopefully the Admins will realize what they are doing to the game before it is too late. Lusternia was never meant to be a snugglefest, but it's becoming more and more that way

... decree for peace in Faethorn ...
You do read the Seren news in-game, yes? The alleged "decree" was clarified ... weeks ago, is my guess without having time to hop on and go searching for the exact date of the post.

If it goes Celest and Glom vs Serenwilde, it's only our fault. We won't think of allying with Magnagora (OMG taint!!) and won't even think about thinking about allying with Glomdoring (Wyrd ftl!) so it's only to be expected.

We won't? Some of us think the Wyrd and the Light are worse than the taint

Is it always this quiet in lusternia... no one in my guild is on... and only 5 people in my commune... or is 8-9 pm est just bad playing hours for most people?
Soll2006-07-21 00:43:03
Glomdoring is one of the lesser populated communes, unfortunately.

When they keep removing the stuff we love about the game, the playerbase drops.
This is also the youngest IRE game.

Heh. I know who you are. Heh. (I'm Veyda.)
Heh.
Alright, well, you had low population because Glomdoring is, indeed, lower in population than the other three organizations. If you're a big conflict-oriented person, I suggest you make a charecter in Celest or Magnagora - conflict between the communes, as of right now, is more indirect and/or oriented towards stronger players.
Of course, if you want to stick around and just do it in Glom, the more power to you.
P.S. Shorlen, stop whining.

For RP reasons and stuff i would rather stick with glom for now. How long has lusternia been around.. i remember when it came out but i have NO sense of time so i cant remember lol.

Lusternian date 1 Estar, year 100 at midnight would be 9/29/2004 at 23:00
More like 22 months, but yeah, nearing on two years.
EDIT: THat might be the time Beta started though... not sure.
Soll2006-07-21 17:25:11
Yup, that's when Beta started.

Don't worry about Shorlen, he's normally a nice person but now seems to be in a ranting mood.
That being said, people always whined about PvP. When Karma came in, people said it would completely eliminate fights in Lusternia - and it was even a more lax version of karma than it is now, because you could offer creatures killed by others for karma (if you don't know what I am talking about, don't worry much... it's just an example).
And guess what? PvP battles are still here. People just:
1. like to whine in general
2. remember things nicer than they really were
There's enough conflict in Lusternia, and if it's not enough for you - make some more, there's plenty of potential for org-vs-org on this game. Just don't hun random people on the highways, because I will have to come from inactivity and crush you.
And krokani ebonguard is a good choice. Bonecrusher is the race's speciality, and a strong, solid skill. Blademasters are good too.
