Hi! I've been trying out races and such and I really like lucidians but I have my heart set on telepathy. Do you guys think the lucidia Charisma (11) is to low for the ego? Would It be better for me as a a mage to just go mugwump or maybe human? (I dont know the charisma bonus for being human archtype mage) You guys have been helpful before and Id be happy for your opinion.

(If it helps , this would be a combat character, and my rp although would work best on lucidian can easily be transfered to almost any race.)

Race selection helps in combat, but you can make an effective combat character with almost any race. If you want to be lucidian go ahead, it shouldn't hinder your combat enough to make it too hard.

If you invest money into a throne, you should be able to get your charisma up to 14 with little problem. +1 from highmagic, +2 from the throne + 2 from Karma... hmm maybe thats only 13...

Humans don't get charisma or size stats changed.

I doubt that is too low.

Humans receive charisma bonuses. Do not listen to Daganev.

Anyway, lucidian won't be the hard way, like Furrikin warrior, Orclach mage or Tae'dae... anything, but you won't be top notch. You'll be able to win with less skilled people, but as it goes with every race:

When two people of equal skill, equipment and character abilities meet, the one with a better race has an advantage. Your race will neer be "better" here.

I was a lucidian mage plenty of times as a Telepath and Telekinetic. I found Lucidians to be great against warriors that use cutting/lightning damage attacks.

There are no better races, just races that get an advantage in different situations. Just High Magic can get your Charisma to 12, which is enough if you keep an eye on your ego and have a beauty enchantment.

Ego upkeep is no problem even for a low charisma telepath. Weak mindburst is.

As a HUMAN warrior. I said humans don't gain Charisma stats... as a warrior and a Human I havn't gained any charisma stats. sheesh.

Second, humans indeed get charisma bonuses. But MAGE humans, which we are talking about in this thread.

Minblast is ego dependant. But ego is obviously charisma dependant. Go figure. And yes, for sure.

It's also intellect based.

That really makes me want to become a Merian, although the low constitution and the lack of awesome resistances is a turn-off, but the high power potential along with the lower con makes them more of a traditional mage.

Telekinetic Imperial Merians are awesome at bashing and tanky as hell, but not that good at PVP

Telepath Imperial Merians are awesome at doing PVP damage, but weak at receiving damage
