Something that came out of discussion regarding how sucky certain tradeskills are and good ways to fix that:
Skill: Stenography
Syntaxes:
STENOGRAPHY ON IN
STENOGRAPHY OFF
Through your mastery of languages and writing, you can quickly translate and write down other people's words on a notepad for reference at a later time. Basically what this means is that if you can understand the language someone is speaking in, you will write it down in the language selected upon activation of the skill. There should probably be a small willpower drain or something, too.
And something totally random out of Caedryn's head:
Skill: MonkeyWithATypewriter
Syntax: MONKEYWITHATYPEWRITER
Summons a mystical monkey and his typewriter, so that he may compose grand literary works for you.

Making logs IC? Not bad... I like it.

You can already see it on screen (OOCly) why would you want to use willpower and extra effort in writing it again?
If it can edit out prompts and other unecessary chatters and is channel directable like say.. STENO GT will only record conversations over GT and nothing else; STENO SAY will write all says in the room, editing out emotes, all channels, all tells, shouts then I think its viable.
But for the monkey...

Mm, that's a really good idea, I didn't think of that. But then one should only be able to STENO one set of speech at a time.
And the monkey was not my idea. That was Caedryn.

I think you'd either need an infinite number of monkeys or infinite amount of time to receive, for example, the history of Elder Wars.

I love it. Make it 'RECORD IN '. 'Record says in mugwumpi', for example.

BRILLIANT!

One million monkeys typing for eternity would produce Shakespeare.
Ten thousand (drinking) monkeys typing for ten thousand years would produce Hemingway.
And ten monkeys typing for three days would produce Dan Brown.
