So I'm working on making a mace, and I notice that I'm gettign 200 precision, 200 speed, and 160 damage every now and then.
in theory, I could get a 162/162/162 mace.
I could then rune and nightkiss that up to 182/182/182
Then I could put 197/197/197... Isn't that a bit much?
I think the weapon numbers need to be looked at.
The way I think it would be fair is the following.
Hammers: 30 - 130/100-200/150-300
Morningstar: 30-130/150-250/100-200
Flail: 120-200/100-200/100-200
Mace: 30-140/100-200/100-200

162 * 3 = 486
Which is 23 points over the stat cap for runing a weapon.

I put in 493 instead of 463
So instead we get 154/154/154
174/174/174
189/189/189
And I think those stats are just as bad.

So instead of asking for Nightkiss to be looked at, you are asking that the whole formula been changed? You are also basing your whole argument on the very limits of modification. Forging Runes + Nightaura/Moonaura + +15 artifact runes.

The issue is not how high up the numbers can go, the issue is how high up the numbers can go in particular combinations of weapons.
Having hammers that have higher precision than morningstars just seems silly, and having maces that are potentially better than flails is also a bit wierd.
Also, aren't you suppose to balance things at the "trans" level.
Basically I'm trying to save myself from spending 2800 credits.
Ildaudid2006-08-18 23:32:40
Yeah if anything maybe you should ask Nightkiss/Drawdown or whatever they are called for stat boosts communes to be looked at. City memebers do not have this access so you won't have to worry about us screaming are you insane... But good luck on your crusade.

Was about to point that out
Don't remove Weapon aura, please
And imagine a a couple of prec. rapiers with Great, bleeding and forging Runes, Nightkiss/Drawdown and a champion helm? Manuver for pinleg and impale, trigger for rend and have fun

If I'm looking for a damage blade it would be foolish of me to spend hours in the forge, working on a greatsword. Yes, it may be possible for greatswords to get relatively good damage on them. But I would be looking to get the best damage possible, thus I would choose to forge the weapon that is best suited for that statistical. Also I've never found the jack of all trade weapons to be appealing. Your numbers are assumption, not fact, and you should always base arguments on fact as much as possible.
So to you, I would suggest that you hit the forge a bit more, and forge about 20 flails, 20 maces, 20 hammers, and 20 morningstars and then compare the averages between them.
Edit: In short, no type of weapon is statistically better than the others. It is just that each type leans towards a certain direction and that is reflected in their stat caps.

I have been....
And so far the maces have the best average.
I have made more maces with better precision than morningstars, even though morningstars can get a better cap.
Hammers, are still the best thing worth forging since damage never really matters anyways, and will consistantly get better precision than morningstars, especially for thier speed.

Unless you're Ixion. Speaking of overpowered weapons...

Uh huh... well, I bought Ixion's rapiers, which I think off the top of my head are 34/202/227 and 34/197/232 and with forging runes I have 44/212/237 and 44/207/242. Now I am not a commune person but with the commune it would be 54/217/252 and 54/222/247. Now if I got +15 runes that is
69/232/267 and 69/237/262. Now, this is with commune without commune it is
59/222/257 and 59/227/252. Now the communes I do saywith that skill are OVER POWERED making a rapier that has about the max speed, and one of those rapiers caps Precision for a Scimitar, making a literal Rapier, Scimitar mix. Also, if I have 15% wounding runes, I might even be able to pin down both your legs in under 7 seconds.
I think that it is the communes that need to be looked out. Maybe Moonaura and Nightkiss to be removed?

Commune stuff is not really an issue.
Just having 44/212/237 is better than any scimitar your going to get.
My point was showing how the seemingly weak weapons (ie. maces/longswords) could be really evil, and they shouldn't be.
Unknown2006-08-19 00:05:20
Well, as i understand, Broad=Damage, Scim=Precision, and Rapi=Speed and Longsword=Average

For that we would bring up Kalodan and Xavius. But maybe not so much Kalodan cause he cant come reply in defense to teasing.

I bet you can't find two other threads in which I mention Ixion. In fact, I dare you to try. If you can't...well, we have a flabby excuse for a champion who needs to be broken in.

What is this, warriors talking about how they have TO MUCH precision, among other things?
