ANNOUNCE NEWS #630
Date: 9/4/2006 at 2:25
From: Estarra, the Eternal
To : Everyone
Subj: Spheres and Poetry
Some of you may have noticed four spheres that have appeared in the
Basin, each taking position over one of the nexuses. These spheres
desire a poem to awaken them. Thus, each city and commune must choose
one poem that represents your city or commune. The writer of the poem
must be a citizen of that city or member of that commune. The chosen
ones must be made available to us by the end of September. On October 7
(which coincidentally corresponds with Lusternia's anniversary!), one of
the four poems will be chosen as the best of the best. Entries can be
works already published in other contests (including any bardics),
though remember it must be a work that represents the city/commune.
There will be prizes for both the poet as well as his or her city or
commune.
Make no mistake, these prizes are substantial. The poet will receive
1000 credits and a special honour (runner ups will receive 500 credits).
The winning city will receive an extremely special prize worth 1 million
gold and 100,000 power.
Good luck!
Penned by My hand on the 23rd of Dioni, in the year 156 CE.

I wish she'd have told us it wasn't something we had to do right that moment. It would have saved Serenwilde from my bad poems.
Otherwise, this is awesome!

My money's on Glom winning, too, because I don't intend to sleep 'till I've come up a good 'un. O, Muses, bestow upon me thy gracious inspiration... and stuff.

Is anyone other than me curious about what this extremly special prize is? Estarra said the prize is WORTH 100,000 power and 1 million gold, not that that was the prize.
Revan2006-09-04 02:51:41
Vernal God, of course.
Gelo2006-09-04 02:51:56
I believe 1000 credits and 1m gold -is- extremely special.

There is no 1 million gold- just something WORTH 1 million gold AND 100,000 power.
So something that other cities/communes could buy with that much, I presume.
