Subj: Shrines and Order changes
Thank you all for the warm welcome. As Estarra mentioned, I probably
won't be visible much, because I'll be busy fixing bugs, and coding all
sorts of wonderful goodies for you all to play with. First round though,
I have Shrine and Order changes for you!
-- Several typos and odd spacings have been fixed with shrines, and
shrine messages.
-- There should no longer be any normal shrines that are unable to be
defiled. There still may be one or two still lying around though, and if
you find one, please let Me know.
-- Destroying a shrine will now properly show up in gods order logs, and
will also consume essence from the Divinity in question
-- Defiling a shrine will now cause the defiler to gain status from
everyone in the order for a period of time.
-- The Clear offerings power should now properly work, assuming your
Divinity has deemed you worthy of having it.
-- There is a new power, SHRINESENSE, that can be used anywhere in the
influence of a shrine. It will show you who is also in the influence of
that shrine.
-- Another new power, shrinesight. This will show you a list of all the
shrines your Divinity has, as well as the influence of each one.
-- Wrath damage has been increased. It may be tweaked in the future if
it is deemed that I increased it too much.
-- My favorite new power: Invasion! At a high essence cost, this power
will summon several creatures choosen by your Patron into the influence
of the shrine, to smite the enemies of your order.

When you're talking about defiling and you say "Status," does that mean the order gets a free declare or that everyone gets suspect? ;-)

They are awesome.
Shrinesight has just the right cost from what I can tell, too.

Don't nitpick, the poor man just fixed all your complaints and then some. Clarification will come imminently.
Thanks Sior!

Whoa. Summon creatures? What kind of creatures?

Subj: Clarification
So, my wording was a bit confusing with the last announce post, so here
is a clarification.
-- Defiling a shrine will now cause the defiler to gain status from
everyone in the order for a period of time.
Should have read:
-- Defiling a shrine causes the defiler to automatically declare the
entire Order.
Sorry for the confusion!
Shamarah2006-09-07 21:38:53
Does that mean that if they already have suspect on us, and they die, they get vengeance? So if we attack a shrine and they have suspect on any of us, we get avengered and peaced?
Xenthos2006-09-07 21:40:19
No.

That's far better than either sitting around watching a shrine go down, which is horrid roleplay, or eating double vengeance because you managed to kill a defiler.

'd by the announce post.
Thanks, Sior!

I think Wrath should cost more essence given it is better now. 100k essence can be gathered by a high-end basher in what... 30-60 minutes, easy?

Except for the fact that 2 100% imbued items == no wrath.
Narsrim2006-09-07 22:06:41
Does wrath actually go down if you defile 2 rooms?

Well, I'd hope it would. But if you defile before they wrath, it doesn't matter, and defiling with esteem is QUICK.
Forren2006-09-07 22:13:17
Isn't wrath area-based, not shrine coverage-based?

It requires having 15 sanctified areas to use.
Vix2006-09-07 23:27:00
There's still the bug with offering to sanctify a fully sanctified spot and eating the corpse.

Just as an aside, do you think it is supposed to be this way?
It seems odd to force defiling with creatures to be so slow, and then allow shrines to be wiped out near instantly by esteem.

Apparently.

Something makes me think that if it wasn't this way, it would be impossible to ever defile during a war.
this way part of stockpiling for war, is keeping imbued items in stock. Gives teh influencers a chance to be part of the war effort.
