So yeah. Pick your poisen I guess.
I'd have to say the Politcal, as how heavy the players have to run it, the RPing is good too, and the tradeskills are fun, and how you can create your own items for your tradeskills.

I like RP, Players (some), Social, diversity in guilds, and politics.

I have to say the people. After coming from another IRE game where they are seriously lacking in numerous areas...well, I've found the people here very mature and easy to play with!
Unknown2006-09-10 23:02:05
I like the depth and realism of the world, and its general immersiveness.
Genos2006-09-10 23:03:51
I voted other because my favorite part of Lusternia is the story.
Unknown2006-09-10 23:22:11
RP cause sometimes I can be someone else in the game.
Acrune2006-09-10 23:23:17
I love the people. Without the people, its just another game to me.

The potential.
I don't know that that's necessarily true anymore. Conflict quests were what made Lusternia potentially so much better than any of the other IRE games and they're gone now. Lusternia is just a slightly different flavour than the others now. A flavour I enjoy but not the whole different animal it was set up to be.

Aetherspace!
Here is a completely new GvG combat system on a potentially massive scale! When we can give it the attention it deserves, and remember that this complex system is not just another faddish toy, it will blow our minds. (In theory, anyway!)

I rather like the politics, guilds, and well.. some of the people RP is something I rarely find good but when it is it keeps me comin back.

I don't agree that the conflict quests, per se, were the potential. To me, they were one side-effect of the potential, which was in the conception, the beautiful histories and the world that seemed to grow from the histories, not from the mechanics.
But I'll certainly agree with your last two sentences. My concise answer above was meant to be interpreted in the past tense (though I still believe that it's possible for that potential to be resurrected, if the right things are done).

Tell you what, if in a year we're on Avaerin battling it out with Deepnight with the full range of aethercraft skills, I owe you a coke.

I do have the tendency to focus on mechanics because things that are coded mean more to the general playerbase than things that are not. That's probably an inflammatory thing to say but I believe its true. And you're right, things can always turn around.

I'd have to go with the story as well. Among the options presented, though, I went with politics.
Unknown2006-09-11 03:54:02
I'd like to say it's the people, but there are actually some who make -not- want to log into lusty sometimes I really like to pay attention to the aesthetics, and I think Lusty is very pretty. But there's something else about the world that draws me back and really has a different vibe from other games, hard to put my finger on it.
Oh, and awsometastic Admins

I like quite a bit of it. Coming from Achaea, I have to say my FAVORITE thing is the people though. It seems more mature here, and we don't all post about something that's happening and let it run for 20 pages just with pictures. Not saying there is anything bad with Achaea, just more that I get along with the people here. Even though some of you are Achaeans too.

Hehe. the picture thing REALLY got to me after a while. And yes, the people here are much more mature! I think it may have something to do with the lower player base. Not as many hinneys!

Conflict, people, and flirting :sagenod:
And those novices that are just amazingly awesome.
I do not consider this the best IRE MUD mechanically, nor to have the best combat system - in fact, I rather dislike the group combat focus in a game where the admins refuse to balance combat for anything other than 1v1. However, I've tried to play other IRE games, and I just can't. I am too fond of the playerbase here.
EDIT: Oh, and the history! The backstory of Lusternia is just so beautifully written
The removal of conflict quests would have driven me away were it not for the people. I'm still really sad that the powers that be decided to make Lusternia boring mechanically and degenerate into the grief fest that this war is, but oh well
