Does the Great Rune of Contained Dimensional Instability make it so that the things in the box do not decay? I didn't think it did, but there were some vials in there that had little or no months left, and I swore they should have decayed by now.
Now, if they do decay, the box would be kind of lame, but if they don't, I'd sure like to know.
Anyone know? Any gods?

I think it's supposed to be slightly "lame." It's Achaea's magical hat.
Sylphas2006-09-11 05:46:05
I want a storage hat, random or not. Not some dumb box. *still hopes to eventually have a custom witch's hat he can stash things in*
Unknown2006-09-11 05:57:50
Um, a manse safe artifact costs 250 credits, can't be moved, can't be freely customized, and doesn't let you draw raffles. And it only halves the decay time.
I'm thinking this 50 credit artifact isn't going to stop decay entirely.

Isn't there like a 200 credit artifact that does the same thing only mobile? Oh yeah, it's called a purse. Think about it Richter.
Unknown2006-09-11 15:33:29
Can we customize the purse to make it look like a hat?

Achaea used to let you change aritfact's wear locations and nouns, but I dunno about Lusternia. I don't see why not though, if you're willing to pay enough for it. But I know there used to be mages in Achaea who had their staves turned into swords and the like, and people who had various artifacts made to be worn in different places. But that was a long time ago when I played.
Richter2006-09-11 18:47:05
Yes, you can. Ever see Daevos' dragon fangs or Sierus' ravenwood branches? Those, and many other items, have been customized from something to another. Personally, I'd like a mace customized into a frying pan, that'd be neat.

Anyone else suddenly tempted to get that hat made, and use it to sort Dedicants into various paths?

I'm kinda anti-paths myself.

Well, in Achaea at least, you have to pay about 500 credits to do that. I guess if you really wanted to, it might be worth that.

Heh, ya, considering you'd have to shell out 1000 credits for manse shop to stop decay rates, I don't think this 50 credit thing is going to stop it, heck, or even half it.

It'd still have to be referred to as "purse". Gwylifar had one customized to be a sporran.
CODE
"purse93259"Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â a silver fox-fur sporran
Most of this sporran is made from silver fox-fur, enhanced with an underlayer of
parafilament fibers that lend strength and durability.  The top of the pouch is
made from black fox-fur, atop which iron and silver decorations have been
hammered.  A shining silver moon sits in the center of the flap, while an iron
arch curves over it, decorated with depictions of complex knotwork.  Three
silver tassels hang from the front of the sporran, trailing dark fur which
shifts against the silver fox-fur in mesmerizing patterns.  A sturdy belt of
iron chain-links loops from the back of the sporran, allowing it to hang
conveniently centered on the wearer.
It weighs 15 ounce(s).
It bears the distinctive mark of Gwylifar llyrFarathan.
Drove Nejii crazy.

This reminds me of another question I have...
Whats the difference between the 200 credit flowerpot and the 250 credit Aether garden?

The aether garden 1) is not mobile and requires a manse, 2) holds more flowers before requiring picking (I don't own one, so I don't know exactly how many more), and 3) is much nicer to look at.
Daganev2006-09-11 22:05:38
The flowerpot holds six. how many does the garden hold? Does the garden also only have a 33% chance of a flower growing?
Richter2006-09-11 22:07:11
You can take the flowerpot with you, you can't take the garden with you. Which, since the garden seems less cool, makes me wonder why it's more expensive.
And I was under the impression that artifact customization was somewhere around 50cr, but I don't see why it would still have to be referred to by the same name. If I want to wield a crowbar, and it says it's a crowbar, why does it have to be a mace?
And I suppose my question will be answered when I open my box in a few days and if the vials that had 0 months left on them are still there, then we know!

exactly my question.

The garden holds more flowers, hence, more expensive.
