I was just wondering if anyone has had the opportunity to test the new twirl ability for the Geomancer staff, and if so, could they give me more information than I already have.

From what I know:
1 second movement delay for 60 seconds or until cleansed and stacks with rubble.

Doesn't seem that hot.

Damn, and here I was all excited, IMing Daevos about it.... sad.gif Thanks for ruining my day, Ash.
Ashteru2006-09-16 22:14:06
You know me. Always happy to take candy from babies. tongue.gif
Revan2006-09-16 22:31:07
So basically it's just a delay from moving rooms... hmm... I could see SOME application for it... maybe. It could be useful for, say... chasm.. if the guy doesn't tumble, which never happens anyway =/.

I was expecting something more impressive, especially since Estarra was calling out for new afflictions.
Verithrax2006-09-16 22:54:20
IT's still better than the old twirl, but yes, I don't see it being used very often.
Unknown2006-09-16 23:13:52
Do Geomancers have any other cleanse afflictions that it could stack with? Also, I could see it as being pretty helpful when stacked with rubble - it would make it even harder to move with rubble, the various knockdowns, and this delay stacked. Though anyone with tumble will still go "KTHXBAI".
Verithrax2006-09-16 23:30:46
Tumble is quite simply overpowered... unless that effect slows down/cancels tumble?
Arix2006-09-17 07:04:30
if they are mounted, it does jack squat. Admins, please, for the love of all that is squishy, MAKE STAFF TWIRL NOT TEH SUCK!!!
Shorlen2006-09-17 08:39:06
I don't see that as worthless... Heck, there's a smudge that does the same thing, and that takes herbs tongue.gif

EDIT: It hits everyone in the room, right?
Narses2006-09-17 09:47:36
from what I gather, it hits the targeted individual only.

Weird, so it should hit all enemies, I'd think =\\
Clise2006-09-18 02:23:20
Well apart from the 1 power used to summon the staff, its power free, takes 4 second balance and won't making it hit all enemies in the room a little too powerful? But then if there's a group combat, the mages tend to die first ....
Arix2006-09-18 02:28:11
UN-NERF STAFF TWIRL! It's only good for one thing, and that is to supply me with a source of endless dirty jokes and off-color misaethers
Clise2006-09-18 02:32:30
So you are saying that you actually prefer the old break bones that can be insta cure on a 4 second balance?

Yes, fear a delay in movement everyone. laugh.gif

I think all the staff/cudgel twirls should be brought up to par with Aqua twirl. That thing is amazing in comparison.

Who the hell can stay mounted in a Geomancer demesne?

Don't you dare touch my twirl cudgel >_<

I think it's fine, even if powerful for a completely different reason than aqua twirl, especially combined with raise cudgel, and especially in groups.

ive had the new one used against me and it works very well and is extremely helpful for keeping someone stuck and trapped in your demense, im not gonna say its the best thing ever but it is definitely useful
