I remember when I first started getting into Lusternia, I found an interview somewhere on the internet about
an original idea of having five archetypes, instead of the current three. Anyone have any idea what the
other two ideas for archetypes were?

Well, there are five archetypes at the moment, but I can see what you mean.
Everiine2006-09-15 19:31:54
Yep, 5: Warrior, Wiccan, Druid, Mage, Guardian.

There are planned to be 5 per org, not 5 total, if I recall. So Wiccans/Guardians and Druids/Mages don't double up on the count.

The interview can be found here.

Q: Ahhhhh. In addition to this unique skill system, Lusternia already starts with so many features! Riding mounts, cooking, jewelry-making... I was honestly surprised, as it seems like there is smaller room for improvement. Can you share any hints of future feature additions with us?
A: Well, I'd like to keep future feature additions as much of a surprise as possible. I will say that in our original design there were two more archetypes which we didn't have time to implement and several skill choices for guilds that have yet to be seen. Hopefully, they'll be unveiled within the coming year!

Also, I forgot to add that from what I can tell the other two archetypes will correspond to the racial pictures for Furrikin, Aslaran, and Loboshigaru. All the other pictures are mentioned in the Character Creation screen as being a certain archetype except for these three. However, the Loboshigaru may just be representing Tosha, but that doesn't fit in with the idea of the rest of the pictures.
There is reason to believe these pictures resemble future archetypes because some pictures were released before the corresponding specialization was in the game. The Mugwump picture came out before Shadowdancers were released, along with Orclach and Dwarf being shown before Pureblade and Axelord specializations were released. We all know the Lucidian picture is an Aeromancer and that the Dracnari is a Pyromancer.

Shamarah2006-09-17 03:04:38

No it doesn't.

The Mugwump is a Wiccan, I remember it being said it was a Nihilist at one point but when I checked the post it said Shadowdancer. I believe Estarra editted it once the guild was released.

So what ents will they get, Djinn and "crystal thingies"??
Djinn makes sense, maybe Hallifax will get Golems?

Estarra said the mugwump was a shadowdancer, hence the cauldron.

The Mugwump is a Shadowdancer. Because Mugwump was almost the specialized race for Glomdoring, according to Estarra.
And I thought the Furrikin was a Serenguard...

I remember it being said the Mugwump was a Nihilist, but this was before the Shadowdancers were released. The first post of the picture was from Apr 13 2005, 02:00 PM and the announce post about the Glomdoring guilds was on 4/24/2005 at 1:01 which was only a few days after the guild was opened. I'm pretty sure Estarra went back and editted it to Shadowdancer when before it said "Nihilist?"
Shiri2006-09-17 03:18:30
Doesn't he have a cudgel?

The Trill is a Hallifax Guardian, and he has little crystals floating over his head. I'd say its a good guess that Hallifax guardians will wield effects via those crystals rather than through an Angel or Demon.

I don't remember it ever saying that, but who knows they've changed things before so we're probably both right.
Also, the rcial pictures thing was just a theory of mine. Thinking about when they released the pictures for the first time brought back some nostalgia, I remember how exciting it was at the time. Not too mention we have the best (by far) racial pictures out of all the games.
Diamondais2006-09-17 03:29:32
Furrikin picture: Looks like a dagger and she has a sheathe on her side.
See what you mean about the Trill picture, who knows what that will be but it looks neat.
I could say Mugwump could be either.
The Lobo has a weapon, its just shadowed.

I'm thinking the Furrikin may be kind of Thief/Assassin unless it is supposed to be a Wiccan and that's just an athame. Or a warrior that forgot her other sword...
Daganev2006-09-17 04:27:45
The aslaran and Lobo look like monks to me.
However, about the Trill.... Those floating crystals arn't runes or hexaura?
