Balance of power?

Back to Common Grounds.

I just wanted to know how equal do you see forces in this war? Dayan ICly is pushing for peace with Seren but OOCly maybe that is not a good idea because I never saw much real activity from Magna against Celest (except few lone troublemakers on Celestia like Ixion) recently. It is always more fun with equal sides biggrin.gif

As of the time being, Celest has the most military power. Most of fighting people from other orgs either went inactive or joined Celest for one reason or another.

It doesn't mean they dominate all the time though. Everyone raids when they have the opportunity (read: a lot of our fighters and not many enemy fighters).

The peace won't happen anytime soon. Demands of both sides are unacceptable for each other, and a military victory is impossible in a MUD - not just Lusternia, but most MUDs designed this way. The only way for one side to win is to make the other one so fed up that they'll quit fighting, but so far I don't see that happening.

I don't think many people on either side want the Celest/Seren war to drag on anymore. Its the leaders that keep it going.

All the fighters on the Celest side seem to love it. That's a pretty large group of people.

Appearances are deceiving.

I'm speaking from an IC sense too by the way.

And I'm speaking from an OOC sense, having spoken to a number of them. tongue.gif

Oh, then yes that's true Xenthos.

Then you have not spoken to them all in an OOC sense.

I did say "a number" that time. happy.gif

The first time was "seems," that most recent one was actually discussing a smaller number that I've directly spoken with.

Slight difference!

Hide behind semantics all you desire, but I will not be bamboozled. I have spied your sweeping use of the wide spanning term of "All", and I will remain confident in my interpretation of your original statement, Sir!

All I've talked to OOCly don't. I want to get back to bugging Magnagora more, but Serenwilde is too annoying to agree to not attack us anymore sad.gif

We could say the same. Celest hasnt exactly stopped attacking us to negotiate. So, we really arent seeing a reason to say were not going to. Even though we rarely do.

Yeah... I kinda noticed that the proposed treaty was neither accepted nor dismissed, and no one pursued it fast enough to get ahead of the agressors chomping at the bit to kill you all more doh.gif Maybe I'll bring it up again sometime, see if I can't get Celest focused on the people who are more important to kill tongue.gif

I dunno, when the Star Council was considering the draft I suggested a temporary ceasefire to Kelly. She thought about it and conferred with the rest of the Council and said no, they'd rather still attack in the meantime.

Things are still happening, its just stupidly slow when Councils/Circles are involved.

Hmm, I must have missed that part, oh well, as long as progress is being made.
Forren2006-09-30 23:50:05
Serenwilde tends to have more people, but Celest has to have a better fighter-to-person ratio. Swarms work well though in a lot of cases.
Ista2006-10-01 01:37:17
I want this war to die. That is all.

doh.gif I thought our reply was supposed to be intimidating silence mellow.gif Meh. OOCly, I think support is falling on both sides, but the rez internet sucks so I never get to go on anymore. But I can seriously see this war over by Novemember, of course, I am an optimist
Verithrax2006-10-01 04:05:16
No.

Next question?
Unknown2006-10-01 04:13:26
Celest doesn't want to stop the war from what I'm seeing

Simple slaughtering and raiding won't really solve much. It'll just bring in a lot more anger to the players in Serenwilde thus wanted payback.
