Knowing Power

I'm sure a lot of you may be opposed to this, saying that only Power Aides should have the ability as it is now, but I still would like to see this in effect.

I'd like to see a skill that tells you how much power you've given that weave. I would see it low on the skill list, since it really has hardly any significant purpose. Alternatively, it could also show how much power you've given to your respective nexus that month as well. Questions, thoughts, concerns, harangs, or debates?

Yes, I know that Power Aides can do this for you, but often-times it would just be nice to not have to cycle through the log and add it all up. For Power Aides, they would be able to simply check an individual's power, sort of like a sub-skill within the skill (similar to influencing sub-skills).

Poweraides can just use POWERLOG to see that exact person.
This would be nice however for when there isnt a poweraide available, or you cant find one.

edit: Need to stop leaving unfinished posts.

Ah....that I did not know. But I would still like to see individuals being able to do that, to check their own power.

Power aides (and ministers) get to read a log of all the power additions, it's most likely the longest most cluttered log out there, and no, you really wouldn't want to see it.

I -do- know people who have coded a script to count up power you draw per weave, capturing each time to link and unlinking you when you've reached your limit, that sounds more like what you want then a look at the powerlogs. fear.gif

Edit:Just ask a poweraide in your nation that is around at the time, part of their job should be to keep you informed if you ask.

He wants to see how much power he's added, not how much he's drawn. Would be really handy for getting through guild requirements and such.

Would be nice

Same answer, ask a power aide. dunno.gif

Allotments are subject to change for any number of reasons, different orgs with different/no allotments for some people.

If it's for a guild requirement and not an allotment then you'd still need confirmation from an aide not the person themselves saying "but but.. I added 2,000 power last weave!"

Also such people that do the confirming (secretaries and what not) should just ask to be aided themselves. I've been in just that type of situation myself many times, problem solved. The only thing that -is- variable that you might not know how much you've given is are the sands of the dreaming, and all you need to do is hop over to your aspects/lords to see who's glowing to know that.

Anywho, having 4 powerlogs is all fine and good, having a individual powerlog for every single player is getting to the point that they don't even need power ministers fear.gif , the national leader just sets the allotments and inputs punishment lengths and everything is automated.

It'd be useful so you could check on your own. I'd use it when starlinking on astral.

Another idea: A new command for power ministry, 'power status '. Shows like this:

Darkened Druid Vanatul of the Glomdoring
Power added this weave: 100
Power depleted this weave: 44
Balance: +66

Would save a lot of work. Maybe have it work for non-citizens as well, would be handy when trying to find out penalties for enemies and how someone working to get their manse linked is doing.

I'd be pretty darn pleased to have any of these ideas implemented.

We're still waiting on the auto-block novice idea from some months ago, I don't think alleviating power minister’s are high on the docket.
