There is no excuse for this, ever with any luck.

Focusing on her left leg, you strike at Leef with a exquisitely crafted draconic broadsword, who
smoothly steps away from the blow. You almost lose your balance as your thrust fails to connect.

9 lunges IN A ROW missed, that's 18 power wasted and tons of balance time.
Bug or no bug, lunges should not miss. Period.

What about, instead of missing, they have a chance to act like a normal attack? So they have a chance of not getting the wounding/damage boost?
Shamarah2006-10-02 01:38:39
Warriors are bugged right now.
Nico2006-10-02 01:41:47
Yeah, we're all bugged. I'm terrified of getting noob'd by some nihilist novice simply cause I can't hit a thing for the life of me at this time.

Lunge has no damage boost. That was removed a long time ago.

If it were a regular hit, you would pay power to rebound into yourself. Not a very good idea, sadly.

Hey Nico, I might be able to lift that status for payback sis you guys mostly miss right now tongue.gif

Or on second thought, not a good idea at my level and skill ninja.gif

I meant a regular hit in the sense that you wouldn't get the damage/wounding bonus, and I said damage/wounding because I was referring to all of the similar skills.. some of those do add damage, correct?
Asarnil2006-10-02 07:21:53
Ixion when was that removed? I still do more damage with crushes than I do with pulps.
Ixion2006-10-02 10:11:31
No, you don't, unless it is a bug on either lunge or crush. It was removed at the time lunge/crush stopped going through shields, you can find the post for the exact date and time (was months ago).
Narsrim2006-10-02 20:27:54
Tried targeting another body part? Chances are all those people were stancing legs, which while it shouldn't miss as much as it did, can explain to some degree a large percentage of misses.
Nico2006-10-02 20:49:54
Yes, it's possible to miss with lunges/crushes, but not to this extreme extent. It really -is- a bug with warriors, and affects both power attacks and regular attacks.

And Asarnil, crushes do not boost damage. They give a 60% boost to wounds.

And Lightzout, you're free to try. I may have to just dazzle/heretic until you get locked up, and then judge.

It's a warrior bug atm.
Geb2006-10-02 21:02:02
Warriors have been having missing sprees a bit too much before this bug, but hopefully the problem that was causing that can be found too. On the idea of Lunge and attacks like it never missing, I still disagree with that suggestion. I feel that the possibility of missing, even power attacks, is needed to keep us balanced.
Daevos2006-10-03 02:15:05
You're wrong, but I don't feel like arguing it again.

You're wrong, but I don't feel like arguing it again either. Though I will say this, how about you do what you suggested I do long ago. You suggested that I become a warrior so I can see how it is. Well I have. How about you become a mage and see how it is for yourself?
