Hi people, I have been playing for quite a while now... Narses being my main character, Reyn being an alt with which I played quite a bit.
At any rate, I am getting bored with Lusternia, sadly. Sympathy, whilst always appriciated is -not- the purpose of this thread but rather... thoughts, ideas, so on and so forth.

I'd say try a new org...but didn't you just switch to Celest? I dunno...I keep my interest in lusternia through the friendships with certain people, and specific goals I want to achieve. Namely titan.
That, and combat has always had huge appeal to me.

Take a break - you're probably just burned out right now. I've taken a couple breaks now, including a year long one, and it's very refreshing. When you come back you feel revitalized and motivated to start playing a lot again. The problem about that is you can get burned out really quickly again, so you have to monitor how much you play and limit yourself.

Yeah, I've had to take breaks too, usually helps.
Felandi2006-10-03 18:12:23
I had to take a break myself earlier as well, the only bad part of that is the decay of vials and clothes. (And furniture. God, the furniture!)

Don't think you can help that either way.
But, look around, take some time to test some new places to adventure. Might find some worth it to give a good relaxing escape.

My advice:
Leave, but burn no bridges.
Log in again in a month.
If you enjoy yourself when you log in again, start playing again.
Otherwise, don't.
EDIT: And, if you didn't, come back a couple months later and try again.
Still no fun?
Find something more fun to do.

Do something to increase interest for you. Change guilds, change tertiary skills, change specialization if it applies, join/change orders, change race, do something to shake things up. If that doesn't work, a break might be in order, you'll likely feel compelled to visit at some point, and perhaps you'll enjoy the game more.

Before you decide to leave and sell all your stuff, find someone who has a shop and will let you put your stuff in it.

Really, what you should do depends a lot on what brought you to Lusternia in the first place, and on how your life has changed since then.
Or perhaps it's more helpful to ask yourself why you play MUDs at all, then ask yourself why Lusternia specifically. No harm in taking a break like everyone's suggesting while you think about those things, either.
Because MUDs are such social games, you might even try looking at your relationship with Lusternia in the same way you look at a relationship with a lover. The first blush of your infatuation is past, and you don't get giddy anymore at the mere thought of logging on, so now it's down to substance. Have Lusternia and the people who inhabit it come to mean more to you than a quick adrenelin rush? Or is it time to go your separate ways and look elsewhere?

Yeah, you might just be getting burned out. Take a bit of a break and come back later. It'll help. Also, try a new organization. Playing a Mag is totally different then playing a Glom, which is different then playing a Celest.

Take a break, they really do do wonders when you come back.

I find a great way to get re-focused on the game is to win an insane bet at Roulette
Actually.. i'm serious. When I start getting burned out, I gamble on either blackjack or roulette. Nothing big at first but its relaxing, and if you dooo win big, it can charge you up to think of what you can do with those winnings.

thanks people. Thing is... as much as I kid myself, playing without access to some reservoir of credits is a major pain.
Every transfer hurts like hell, and I got my credits from bardic winnings only- which is a long process and quite demanding mostly... so every switch I make, decreases my overall skills- thus losing more and more of an already limited competence.

I've always enjoyed Reyn's company, even if my character and yours never really got the chance to talk much. If you take a break, you'll either come back revitalized or decide not to play at all, and though the latter would make most of us pretty sad , well... whatever turns out better for you is what's best in the long run.
Narses2006-10-04 20:04:22
I think I'll take your offer and take a long break... I actualy thought about getting back to the BT but I don't think it's possible. -shrug-.
I will still be jumping up and about to check messages...
bye for now people.

I hear you...I'm the same way. I've switched skills countless times....*sigh*

I think in the long run its cheaper to make a new char than to switch guilds. even though the math suggests otherwise.
