Basicly, I think each existing commune/city has its own characteristics. In my view, Glomdoring is a twisted forest, Magnagora is a morbid city, Serenwilde is a pure forest, and Celest is a cheery city.
This is all about the look of places and one can plainly see by looking that Serenwilde and Glomdoring arent the same type of forest.
I was thinking that a good theme for Gaudiguch would be an oriental style city. It wouldn't be called oriental style in the game but the buildings could be designed to look like an oriental setting. It's just an idea but its what theme I think Gaudiguch should be. And in RL history, fireworks (keyword being fire) were first made in the orient (China or japan) so it seems fitting.
Just an idea, but what about it?

They have a giant pyramid... like the illuminati on the back of the 1 dollar bill.
Unknown2006-10-05 01:26:26
Yeah, I think Gaudiguch is set to get pyramid-style buildings (which I also think is more unique and interesting), but who knows what will happen down the road.
Unknown2006-10-05 03:27:45
How the hell did you get 'oriental' from Gaudiguch? If it's going to resemble any real civilization it will be Egyptian/Middle Eastern, and even then it will only be a very light touch, if anything.
Nementh2006-10-05 03:44:33
Actually I get more of a Aztec feel... I may just be weird though.
Acrune2006-10-05 04:48:20
I think that, since it'd have to be pulled from the past (kinda), it should have a 70's feel to it, with lots of strobe lights, and disco balls. Also, the city could be introduced with several new 'herbs' that can be smoked or inhaled for good times.
Dysolis2006-10-05 05:25:30
There will be no disco balls of the like.

Have you ever read the histories?
Aaand Gaudiguch definitely has oriental influences. Confucianism and Buddhism are very evident in the histories.

I know I read them, and those Dracnari were definitely struck with Disco Fever. Burn baby burn, disco inferno!

I second that motion.

Katanas come from dairuchi, although dairuchi is not necessarily Gaudi
Unknown2006-10-05 05:56:43
I kind of get the feel of a mix of Eygptian, Oriental and Disco. :\\

Gaudiguch is the uber party Frat house of the Basin.
In true oriental society (Japan) Nature is arranged in graceful patterns, with people arranged around the patterns.
In Gaudiguch, one person says party, and all meaning of the word 'order' goes straight out the window. With respect and dignity splattered on the walls in pieces.

Unlike disco, the orient was around for ages. They could even have an emperor like the China and Japan of old. But I saw it as oriental because it was fire based, and the Chinese made the first fireworks over a thousand years ago or more so it seems suitable. And, no offence to any Dracnari players or the creators, the dracnari seem the sort of things Chinese people would wear in times of celebration you know. But it's near a desert so an Egyptian style wouldn't be too off though. Also, in Lusternia the 70s would seem like the future so it would defeat the point >.<

Time to reincarnate to Dracnari and change my character's history.

That's a blunt way of putting it.

Its also completely incorrect.. but.. whatever floats yer boat. Gaudiguch has definite oriental influences that are quite blatant in the histories.

This thread makes me laugh... good stuff everyone!
But....I doubt we are much closer to Gaudi now than we were 4 or so months ago, now are we?

No, we're further away, what with all the people quitting.

Maybe they're just using new characters?
