I think it would be really useful if each guildhall had some kind of test dummy that the members could try out their skills on, and it would automatically show it's health, mana etc. and a DIAG readout either after each hit it took, or whenever the attacker called one up. It would have very large health, and would not be invincible (so you can try instakills) but would never hit back. There could be a lever in the room to call up a new one if it dies, maybe.
For all of this though, it would have to be able to take afflictions and the like. Is this possible for an non-player object? By possible I suppose I mean worth-it in terms of coding time.
Discuss.

Would be nice.

Id like that since our Arena is hidden, and my test subject likes to run away.

But we can flow there now!

Sounds like a good idea to me.

I do not run, I do the smart thing and disappear like a ninja

Shush, stop running. Or I might have to learn to beat on Orti.

I say much yes to this idea

We also need a test Dummy for Mythbusters
Joli2006-10-11 07:10:44
I like the idea, but it sounds like it'd take a god awful amount of coding.

heh, ya seeing what Lis said about it. Essentially they'd need to have a way to label this NPC dummy as a PC for the basis of afflictions and skills and so forth.
The dummy wouldn't actually be able to fight back, or cure itself, so I still think the arena would be vastly superior for testing things, I use it myself when I do that.
