Just a goofy thing I just realized looking at the logs yesterday.
Kidaen used to be an Ephemeral. Now he got downgraded to a denzien.
Gorky used to be a denzien, now he's an Ephemeral.
So, who did Kidaen piss off to get downgraded, and who did Gorky suck up to ?

Kidaen is a denizen? where?

*point* LOOK! *runs away*

I tried look Kidaen during his first appearance and couldn't see him. I did an ih and saw him marked as minstrelxxxxx (whatever the number was).
He's a Denzien now. A Denzien with Divine Fire, but a Denzien nonetheless.
I'm actually very afraid to leave the game on a permanent basis. Aesyra more or less became a denzien as the "Avatar" since she left (although it wasn't entirely clear either way during the Morgfyre event). If I ever went away permanently, I'm afraid of what would end up happening to Tully if it ever looked like I was never coming back.
Although I think it's cool for Estarra to do that kind of thing, at least where the demigod Aesyra was concerned. And yes, Kidaen is too cool to suffer the fate of all the other Ephemerals.

Gorky used to be a denizen? From where?
And I think it'd be neat to have yourself 'immortalized' as a denizen if one were to ever leave the game

Gorky built the shops and guildhalls in Glomdoring when it was opened as a commune.
Unknown2006-10-11 01:22:33
No wonder I couldn't honors Kidaen any more. I had wondered where the mistrel went.
Vix2006-10-11 01:23:56
Aesyra's "denizen" wasn't actually her though. It was a creation by Hajafyre in her image using the Eye of Dynara. Too bad Kidaen wasn't an actual Elder so he could patron our new bards.
Ixion2006-10-11 01:25:44
Aesyra is still semi-active, btw.
Karnagan2006-10-11 01:47:12
If I ever leave permanently, slap some ancient armour on me and make me a special Catacombs trooper. *nodme*

Ixion and Athana will surely be remembered and probably placed on top of Avechna's peak to memorialize their honoured spirits
And the rest as well who has been in this game for too long.

Whatever happened to Akussa? Didn't see her around for the weekend events.
Morgfyre2006-10-11 03:43:25
Ephemerals don't typically make large appearances because of their, well, ephemeral nature. They don't typically interact with players directly except under special circumstances.

I suspect she's in the process of being promoted Glom neeeeds a divine
Unknown2006-10-11 04:06:28
Morgfyre ate her because of her insidious enter and exit messages.
Daganev2006-10-11 04:45:28
says the man with the insidious sig and avatar.
Shryke2006-10-11 04:55:25
That sig rocks

I would be pretty much pissed if I decided to take a break and came back one year later to find out I am an NPC. What was done to Aesyra char without asking the player first was very rude in my opinion. Basically, people gets attached to their chars and it can hurt the player to see what's done with it.
Imagine if now you go on holidays and a funky Divine decides he's going to make Tully into a baby killer psicopath, or even worse, a boring character without any kind of flavour, without even asking you. Tehn you come back to play... and you're no longer able to because you're an NPC.
With ephs is different, as they're chars given by the Admins and they have no reason to exist once the Eph leaves the game or becomes a Divine or goes back to playing.
Unknown2006-10-11 09:26:38
I was sort of kidding...and like somebody said, the Avatar was not really Aeysra, just part of her. (If Hajamin is dead, Aeysra can't be his Avatar anymore, so in that spec, it made sense).
Gwylifar2006-10-11 14:29:28
I've thought about offering Gwylifar as an NPC emissary of the Warrior Spirits, but I doubt they'd want to use him.
