My revenge to Verithrax sort of. I made him perform in front of the whole city.. with maybe 5 minutes notice. I really like my dance.. I really like belly dancing in general..

One thing.. I didn't like the response I got from Magnagora.. How often does someone get impaled in the middle of a play in real life? And whoever was linking.. I hope you die..

Centre of the Necropolis.
Rising up from cracks in the floor, the Megalith of Doom towers above everything
here, polluting the air with its foul fumes. Obfuscated by clouds of shadow, a
pyramid of polished marble rises grimly through a pile of bones and rotting
bodies. The subtle flows of nature culminate in this growing rose of blackness
pulsing with divine radiance. A sigil in the shape of a small, rectangular
monolith is on the ground. The Keeper of the Megalith stands here radiating a
tainted presence. A hunting trophy bearing Nico's head is proudly exhibited on a
nearby wall. A hunting trophy bearing Talkan's head is proudly exhibited on a
nearby wall. A hunting trophy bearing Neerth's head is proudly exhibited on a
nearby wall. Hackles risen, a fierce timberwolf prowls about here. Sitting on
its haunches, a bloodhound rests here. Pausing to rest, a loboshigaru pilgrim
looks off into the distance. A baby rat timidly moves in the shadows here. A
full-grown rat prowls near your feet. Micah is here. Penitent Fallai d'Erlette
is here. Urth Dulchaise, Instrument of the Fates is here. Dilettante Amira, of
the Blank Note is here, shrouded. She wields a golden lyre in her left hand.
Maestro Verithrax Poisontooth, Spider Charmer is here. He wields a grim mandolin
of ebony wood and bone in his left hand. Dreadlord Murphy, Divine Wrath is here.
He wields a magic tome in his right hand. Silver-Tongued Devil, Stagar Vae'Sant,
Song of Torment is here. He wields a wooden lute in his left hand and a gold and
iron buckler shield in his right. Destroyer of Minds, Revan, Keeper of the Holy
Texts is here. He is surrounded by one reflection of himself. Dilettante
Ranadae, of the Blank Note is here, shrouded. He wields a worn lute in his left
hand. Ays Lyreth ey Quillifur, Nymerya de la Koicei is here. She wields a shield
bordered in moonstones in her left hand and a blackened platinum rapier in her
right. Aois-Dana Aia y'Kada, Mistress of Song is here, shrouded. She wields a
demonic lyre in her left hand. Strategist Lokinov Xandul, Guild Archivist is
here. Narrath, Tuner of Dischord is here. He wields a wooden lute in his left
hand. Apprentice Cervius is here, shrouded.

You have emoted: Joli steps sideways so that her profile is facing the audience.
She lifts one arm above her, arching her chest and stomach forward slightly,
pausing before starting her dance.


Maestro Verithrax Poisontooth, Spider Charmer bows low and waves a hand towards
Joli, standing up and moving his fingers over the fretboard of his mandolin as
he moves into a discreet, shaded side of the N.

You have emoted: Joli begins rolling her hip forward, the fabric on her waist
swaying gently, before she lowers her arm suddenly and steps out to the side,
undulating both arms as she does so.

Maestro Verithrax Poisontooth, Spider Charmer plucks a few strings into a
speeding ad hoc song, falling into a loud, rapid, reverberating drone.

You have emoted: Joli rolls her arms back and forth, slightly like a serpent as
she leans backwards slowly. She raises herself back up, moving one foot to the
front of her as she jumps into her next motion.

You have emoted: Joli brings her arms over her head, moving them rhythmically.
She begins shimmying her hips slowly from side to side, taking small steps to
the right as she does so.

You have emoted: Joli spins lightly and slowly on her feet, her hair waving
behind her as she moves. She draws her hands lower, silhouetting her form as she
slides her hands to her waist and rolls her hips once slowly.

Maestro Verithrax Poisontooth, Spider Charmer taps his foot with the tempo,
playing a complex crescendo and oscillating uneasily between a light allegro and
an odd vivace.

Ays Lyreth ey Quillifur, Nymerya de la Koicei watches the proceedings with a
faint smile.

You have emoted: Joli slides one leg behind her, lowering her back once more,
but this time holding one arm behind her head and the other in front, pausing
before shrugging her chest and shoulders, then standing.

You have emoted: Joli raises her hands above her head, shimmying her chest this
time. She lowers her arms out to her sides and shrugs her chest again, before
stepping out to the side.

You have emoted: Joli steps sideways to the right and rolls her stomach inwards,
one arm raised to her side as she steps out to the left and undulates her
stomach and hips to the other side.

Maestro Verithrax Poisontooth, Spider Charmer follows Joli's motion closely with
his rapid playing, keeping a close eye on her while he strums forcefully,
producing deep bass notes that resonate eerily through the chambers of the
Necropolis.

You have emoted: Joli grins slightly at Verithrax and moves to the front,
raising her arms out to her sides. She begins shimmying her chest, her hips
moving back and forth in quick, snappy movements.

You have emoted: Joli raises her hands up over her head, shimmying faster as she
does so, then lowers them back down and swiveling her hip slightly to the side,
preparing herself for the next few steps.

Maestro Verithrax Poisontooth, Spider Charmer returns the grin in suit, nodding
his head back and forth somewhat violently as he suddenly breaks into a wild,
rapid phrase.

You have emoted: Joli swings her hip to her right, in one quick motion, her body
dips slightly down and then back up suddenly. She snaps her head up quickly
before moving her leg to the other side.

You have emoted: Joli moves to the other side, dipping her body down again as
her hands and arms sway with her body, seeming to push her along as she moves.

You have emoted: Joli holds her hands raised slightly above her abdomen as she
stands almost straight. She alternates shimmying her hips and chest, moving her
body in strange concise motions in tune with Verithrax's mandolin.

Maestro Verithrax Poisontooth, Spider Charmer nods to himself as the complex
bout of improvisation seamlessly turns into another quiet drone that leaves room
for Joli's dancing.

You have emoted: Joli grins widely and hops back into her original position, one
arm raising itself above her head as she thrusts her chest forward teasingly,
spinning lightly on her feet and raising one arm above her and one to her hip,
finishing her dance.

Nymerya gives up a round of applause.

Utterly entranced, Lan emits a long "Ooooh."

Apprentice Cervius says, "Woooooow."

Maestro Verithrax Poisontooth, Spider Charmer produces a few dissonant notes,
giving finality to his own playing.

Linnia says that it was very well done right up until the final emote. Show, don't tell! You remember that. "Teasingly" is against the rules. Show why it's teasing. And..."finishing her dance?" Tsk!

And Verithrax just fails. You need to teach him.

-snicker- Nini came back just for that moment? I made this very quickly and it's the first dance in at least a year.

Do you mean one Magnagoran actually attacked you in response to the play?

I snuggled murphy.. which used to be normal for me to do to him at one point.. and he impaled me.

I was trying not to steal Joli's attention. Besides, I got to use the words ad hoc, vivace and crescendo.

Shouldn't those words be in there anyway? Since it's a musical performance..

My honest opinion, and I'm trying to be helpful here, is that you were way too mechanical. Dance is supposed to be fluid and artistic.. so being so mechanical with body placement was really distracting for me, and made me feel like I was reading instructions rather than something meant to be entertaining.

And the Linnia Iiiii remember would have said something about that too!

It wasn't a bad dance, that's not what i'm trying to say at all, just that a little more art and a little less technicality might go a long way to making it much better in the future.
