I proposed an alternative to splendor which would allow you to use acrobatics and not be as good, armour-wise, as robes (Although mildly better than leather), but I feel this is a good idea.
Splendor cloaks would be similar to a splendor robe in that they can receive all four proofings and the proofings are more effective than regular ones. The difference is that they don't coung as armour, and can be worn over leather. Instead of improving your damage reduction, they allow you to dodge more often. (If you have dodging). Sewing another cloak or a splendor robe would cause the original one to disappear, of course.
I feel this is balanced. The resistances it gives are nowhere near what a tome gives, and for a warrior that's probably already high-constitution, it wouldn't make that much of a difference except for the electrical and magical resistances it gives. Bards wouldn't lose skills for having them, they fit the bard archetype well (Bards have NO elemental resistances of any sort, much like warriors, but they also have lower constitution, unlike warriors). You can wear it over great robes, but it would be just like a worse version of splendour (Although the proofings should probably be more effective than splendour, maybe 2,5 times better than regular ones?).
In a related note, is it possible to wear hats over a skullcap? If not, can we please have that? It would be interesting for bards to wear a hat to hide the leather skullcap underneath.
