You say, "Ok, tell me how much this does."
You raise a holy symbol of the light towards Ruiku, and a scintillating beam of
light burns into his chest.
Aqua Adept Ruiku says, "506."
Having no other option, you call down an inquisition upon Ruiku. A pillar of
holy fire strikes him from the heavens, leaving him standing there frozen with
an expression of terror on his face.
You raise a holy symbol of the light towards Ruiku, and a scintillating beam of
light burns into his chest.
You say, "How much did that do?"
Aqua Adept Ruiku says, "Total?"
You say, "The symbol."
Aqua Adept Ruiku says, "Same.."
Inquisition does not increase damage, except by removing defs you have that protect against that damage.

Right, but it removes frost potion, resistance, aura, drawdown, nightkiss, garb, etc, which are significant damage reduction skills.
Abethor2006-10-27 22:24:42
Interesting...........

And bonds . Not damage reducing, but makes death hurt a lot more and voids out the Trans Ecology skill.
Ashteru2006-10-27 22:36:20
Same for Lichdom, really. Inquisition is just damn annoying, stripping transskills like that.
Hiriako2006-10-29 17:29:33
Stripping drawdown makes me cry.

Deepbonding is more like a 18p skill... >.>

inquisition takes a lot of power and time and is pretty easy to escape-if you just walk out of the room for a few seconds the whole process has to be started over and the time it takes to regain that much power is too long to be able to viably be done. I think it's a fair trade off really.

Of course you do...your character likely has the skill. Why would you not think your own skills are fine and dandy?
Vix2006-10-30 04:49:10
Heh, but those on the receiving end think it's overpowered. Given its past record and general un-blatantly-overpoweredness, it's fine in my opinion.

Has it changed so it isn't an instakill able to be done by multiple people in group combat yet?

Yes, I believe only you can't continue someone else's inquisition process. You need to do it alone.

It costs 12p to do...
Geb2006-10-30 14:58:29
We also have to remember that as powerful as it is, Inquisition is not an insta-kill. People have been inquisitioned and survived.
Felandi2006-10-30 16:33:58
Have they been inquisitioned and -won?-

It can be done. People used to do that.

I actually heard you can, you just can't see the glowing.
EDIT: Bleh, nevermind. Just don't like it that inquisition renders someone completely helpless for a significant amount of time AND makes them lose all their defs.
Ixion2006-10-30 19:52:10
Correct Ashteru. Inquisition CAN BE DONE BY MULTIPLE PEOPLE.
And, since you can make alarmed echoes for the glowing, you don't need to be able to see the glowing.

silimaur2006-10-30 20:06:37
yes but it still has the timers which means it makes no difference that multiple people can do it together
