The constant team effort involved, the challenge of the playing trader, the thrill of making giant space creatures go "boom"... Yeah, this has got to be me favorite MUD feature of all time.
Now if the gnomes will keep their production high enough for me to keep paying the crew decent shares, I am SO hooked...
Hint: Fairly rapid production with relatively low maximum quantities in stock may prove to be the best way to keep trading fun for as many people as possible, while still keeping any one ship from making truly obscene amounts of money too quickly. At any rate, I forsee a lot of tweaking involved before a good game balance is reached for this feature.
And, yeah, the Aurora took in obscene amounts of money this weekend, while the trade ship production was ratcheted so high.

Question: When you blow an aethership up, can you collect it's commerce stuff? Aether Privateering would be so badass

I have to say, for how little effort it is (it's mostly just running around) the return is very nice, even when the gnomes only have small supplies that only tick up very slowly, as it is now.
You can find really good deals out there, but it shouldn't be sped up like you are suggesting.
Unlimited gold sinks are a bad idea.

I used to play a game like this on my palm pilot... once I get over the aethership traveling hump, I'm going to enjoy this.

I tried to explain aethercommerce to a friend who has no idea what lusternia is and blowing up beasts with a ship to get dust to trade to gnomes just sounds wierd out of context I learned

Hmm, I should consider forgetting tailoring and going into an aethercraft spec...

Haven't tried it yet, probably should.

Somebody form an aether team with me and Ildaudid. Nobody in Mag knows how to use a ship, except for Yuniko, but she's nuts and I am afraid of dying
