So, I know we can copy books such that the original is kept and all copies are stored else where, and when the original is edited, all of the copies are updated accordingly. Does this also work for book that are currently being kept in a library, as copies of the master work?

I'm pretty sure you have to offically revise a published book, and go through the whole process again to get it published as the 2nd addition of the book. Unless it's changed since I last heard authors complaining about it.
