Well, basically what have you found to be most useful in debating so far..

For example, do you always switch to the opposing mindset if you get hit in a debate, or do you do it randomly? How do you decide what to attack your opponent with?

And with dramatics.. how do you use attidutes? Keep the same one during the whole debate or switch around? How do you use the dramatics afflictions?

PS: If anyone has a full list of the dramatics/debate messages I wouldn't mind. ninja.gif

I switch around randomly and use echo's to see what mindset the person has and what to use. I can send you my trigger/alias set for debating, just PM your email.

An affliction (fasttalk) makes a certain mindset weak. When using that mindset you'll take more damage, even if that mindset would have normally granted you a 'win'. There are three afflictions one for each mindset.

There are also three defenses (attitudes), these work as cures one for each affliction, and also grant a small bonus to a certain debate attack.

It just turns the rock-paper-scissors game 3-d in my opinion, you have to decide how important debating, curing, and attacking are in relation to each other, as they are all taking eq up.

As for switching mindsets and attacks, everyone does something different, some people don't change at all (the true noobs), some people randomly hit aliases (the noob gamblers), some people have complex systems that change their mindsets and attacks for them based on what’s the best combination at the moment, or use echo's and do it themselves (the pros) some people take the pro's a step farther, pick what their enemy would do as the next best one and change accordingly to blow them out of the water (the theorists).

Every style has good and bad points about it, and you really need to find something that works for you. dunno.gif

Noob gambler here! biggrin.gif

For me, I have 3 aliases that correspond to the three mindsets...and I just cycle through them at varying speeds. Sometimes it works, and sometimes not, but I have been able to hold out against some of the stronger debaters for longer than I would have had I tried to do something strategic.

Also, I generally don't go on offense for debates. I'm told that's bad, but honestly, setting myself off eq more than I have to just makes me feel too vulnerable tongue.gif

That's something that's changed recently, defensive debating used to have a huge advantage over the offense, but that's changed now. At least, I've been told it has changed, I'm still a horrible debator (also a noob gambler).
