ANNOUNCE NEWS #677
Date: 11/19/2006 at 20:49
From: Morgfyre, the Legion
To  : Everyone
Subj: Family Acknowledge

A new option has been added for the family verb: FAMILY ACKNOWLEDGE
.

If you are not active in a family, you may acknowledge either your birth
family, a family you have founded, or your spouse's active family. This
has a cost of 10,000 gold sovereigns and must be done in the Hall of
Records on Avechna's Peak. Note that if your spouse is active in a
family, you may not acknowledge a family that is different from his or
her active family, and that if your spouse is not active in a family,
acknowledging a family will also bring your spouse into that family (and
require their presence during the acknowledging). In other words, it
isn't possible for you and your spouse to be in different families.

We hope that this will solve most of the outstanding complaints and
issues regarding the family system not being flexible enough.

Enjoy!

Penned by My hand on the 24th of Vestian, in the year 162 CE.

I'm starting to hope again.. could bloodbond family get addressed to please? So that more than two people could found one OR that you had the possibility of joining it later as a sister / brother to the founders? Please? pray.gif

It should be possible to join a family as a distant cousin, essentially starting another 'branch' with the same name.

I'm not a distant cousin! And it's not like in real life there are only ever -two- brothers and sisters.. if you can consider children why not a brother / sister? I know it's a coding issue and has been from the start.. but this announce made me hope again that this problem will ever be addressed.. so please?
Verithrax2006-11-19 21:05:27
Yes... more brothers and sisters, please.
Arix2006-11-19 21:07:32

Yes! More brothers and sisters! Do it for poor Sylphas!
Acrune2006-11-19 21:47:09
I'm not sure I understand what this does.

To return to a family, you can FAMILY ACKNOWLEDGE . It costs 10,000
gold to acknowledge a family and you must do so at the Hall of Records.

family that is different from his or her active family, and that if your spouse

Does it just undo leaving a family? If not, what does it do?
Morgfyre2006-11-19 21:55:36
You can join one of 3 things:

1. A family you were born into.

2. A family you founded.

3. A family that your spouse is active in.

It's mainly a reversal for FAMILY REJECT, no?

That's what it looks like, or for people who get a divorce, which is really helpful for those problems, but it doesn't do anything for the people who wanted to be added to a new family as some kind of sibling or whatever.

Yeah. I really haven't heard too much demand for that, though its good that the want for a better family system is being addressed. Hopefully some day I'll be able to adopt people who are married and want parents, or maybe even get a sibling even though I'm already married myself pray.gif

You can adopt those who are married. unsure.gif Though, I know its definitely so if they havent started a family, so maybe its not for those who have?

Maybe thats it
Shiri2006-11-20 03:33:56
I guess it solves SOME of the relevant problems...
Diamondais2006-11-20 03:35:49

And I agree with diamondais but it would be even better if the rest gets looked at as well! pray.gif

EDIT: Yeah, can anyone tell yet that this has been bothering me since open beta? And recently people asked me too how I was related to them in the Kalas since I'm not an official family member. unsure.gif
Reiha2006-11-20 06:20:14
So, Reiha founded a family with her sister Jaskata, the Tredias. When she got married, she rejected it so she could be Kalas. Right now, she is engaged again to Ildaudid - would she be able to be considered by Yukari and Lyco now as her parents?
Ildaudid2006-11-20 09:53:47
If we get remarried now, I dont think so, if you happen to find Lyco online in the next 24 hours before we remarry then wait 24 months again then maybe but not sure... but remember Athy and Ixion are puttin the pressure back on for us to rewed blush.gif

I have yet to see or feel this "pressure". chin.gif
