So who braved the early morning and went shopping (Americans of course)!

I woke up at 4:45am and went to best buy, but never actually went inside because the line was easily 300 people long and people were only being let in in groups of 20 or so O_O.

Then I went to Walmart and scored three DVD's (Rush Hour 1 & 2 and matrix for my brother) for 3.44 each biggrin.gif. I will also have nightmares of people chasing me with shopcarts that have 20" symphony plasma TVs in them. God they were everywhere it was horrible.

And the line at Circuit City was ridiculous.

So was I the only one out there? tongue.gif

Since I'm trained to get up at 4:45 AM on a daily basis. I tried going to Kohls, but the full parking lot and the long lines made me turn right around and go home.

On-Line shopping is your friend.

Usually I'm not a morning person, but I sprang up at 4:45 and was immediately wide awake. And yeah, I really wanted the Little Mermaid DVD that was supposed to be on sale at Circuit City but :
1) I couldn't find it
2) the lines were wrapping around the store to check out

It was still funny though, just being there and seeing how absolutely INSANE people get.

Its 6:27am here, I'm about to make a jaunt to best buy. Wish me luck

o-o

I make a note in my daily life to avoid insanity. So on the riday after Thanksgiving, I keep malls and major shopping centers a minimum of 20 miles away. It is the only safe thing to do.

Oooh... work is gonna be SO fun tonight!......Not!

But then again, maybe by 7pm the worst of it will be over.... AND I expect the Arkansas-LSU game to keep most everyone home that time of night anyway. Folks around here are RABID about the Razorbacks, so the chances are good the game will defeat even Black Friday. laugh.gif

Just wanted to point out that Little Mermaid is a selfish bitch. You don't notice when you're a weeny little kid but if you watch the movie when you're older you come to realize this.

That is all.

Her daughter is worse.

I always liked the original poster they made for it..... Never piss off an designer. The phallic symbol in the palace was really funny... I cant find a complete picture of the actual poster tho. But I am sure someone can and will post a link to it.

It's one of those Urban Legends.

It's like saying the Megalith is a penis and the Portal of Fate is a vagina. Just mental interpretation.

Eh, your thinking about the Black Friday before easter aren't you?

They were referring to the Black Friday also known as the day after thanksgiving, where stores make a lot of profit, which in the past has contributed to 10% of Christmas time sales.
(black in black friday= black ink for profit)

That's Good Friday, anyway.

The little mermaid doesn't have a censor.gif ing daughter. Stop letting Disney spoon-feed you watered down drivel. Prince doesn't marry her, bitch dies. End of story.

Also, I had to work today. At the downtown library, with the state workers all home. So the only real patronage we had was the routine batch of crazy homeless people. My boss called off, the other PSA working the desk wasn't scheduled in, the page called off... So I had a bunch of people I don't like I had to cater to, with half our staff off. Bad day.

Working black friday wasn't nearly as bad I had expected. It had mostly died down by the time I got there (1 pm) and got slower as the day went on. Also, one of the customer service people worked a register, and there were 3 cashiers, giving us an extra person. The extra person decided to share my register, and we'd switch off ringing people up every half hour or so, but I got tired of her standing uncomfortably close and wandered off to do other stuff. Seriously, the girl needs to understand the idea of personal space. When sharing a register both people don't need to fit in the tiny space behind the counter. rolleyes.gif

Heh, it's not that one according to Tully's article. The one a bit to the right.
