It looks almost as if you don't track afflictions or balances and simply respond to each message with the cure. You were sending things such as writhe, sip phlegmatic, focus mind, etc, far too much. If you are tracking things, I'd say there's a few issues to work out yet. If you aren't, it's time to start.
Ixion2006-12-01 13:17:36
Fun to read, though you both need some work on your curing.
Shamarah2006-12-01 13:51:47
Why were you eating wormwood from the Shakiniel attack? That's almost always anorexia.
Vesar2006-12-01 13:52:16
Hey Talk, did you log your view? Can you post it?
Unknown2006-12-01 16:06:37
Okay, first of all, as has already been said, you need to do some work on your curing. It looks like you're using Ethelon's old free system, which is acceptable for just starting out, but it won't get you incredibly far because it doesn't track or heal afflictions very well, and it's not updated. You had a hard time in the beginning mounting a decent offense because you had to spend the entire time curing.
Second, why did you wait until so far into the fight before using your demon? It's usually a good idea to order your entourage to attack first thing.
Third, you should generally not bother with leech unless you're specifically going for a mana kill. Even then, it's best to focus on afflictions and get the target mixed up before you begin leeching. Otherwise, they will see exactly what you're doing, and will know how to counter it. Also, if you leach too early, you have to focus on keeping the target down much longer. It's best to always have an idea in mind what you're working toward, and ensure that everything you do is bringing you closer to that goal. If you're working toward a damage kill, then leech is mostly just a waste of EQ.
You got lucky a few times in there in that Talkan had a really hard time curing stupidity. Also, if he had followed up more quickly in the beginning and chased/empressed you instead of trying to beckon you back, you would not have had as much time to cure and he probably could have had you. Until you get your system fixed up, you should focus on getting on the offensive first, before the enemy can stack too many afflictions on you.

no, unfortunately I didn't log it. I never log the fights I want to look at later, and I always log the ones that don't matter. I was fine, save for a few stupidity time and was running low on power after he killed my angel-takes forever for me to regain power, and then at the end I got aeon and a loop that outr's coltsfoot and tries to fill the pipe. I eventually made it out of aeon, right at the very end-but it was too late by then because I had to turn off triggers and parsings to get it to end.
Ceren2006-12-01 21:03:58
Ouch. If your pipe's empty and you don't have focus mind, you might as well cure aeon with soulwash.

Heh, I've been there before, as you know. Like the time I tried to kill you in the moors, and somehow my system got into a writhing loop...
I've never been a Celestine here, and never made it very far with my Nihilist alt, so I could be mistaken, but from my experience with priests/apostates in Achaea...
If he decides to kill your angel, I'd say let him. While he's attacking your angel, you have quite a bit of time to attack and load up whatever afflictions you want without him offensively harming you. Let your angel get in whatever afflictions she can, but that's when you should whore aeon/moon/etc and just let him attack. You probably could have gone with web/aeon/quicken/cosmicfire him to death while he was distracted by your angel. I wouldn't worry about healing your angel (only saw you do that once I think) in the middle of a fight, only between fights.
Shorlen2006-12-01 21:59:57
I found it hilarious in the end when Talkan resummoned his angel and the angels attacks were in sync with Malarious's demon, and then Talkan was hit with Disloyalty from a tail sting...

STING THEM!!
A hideous archdemon vomits forth a stream of noxious fluid that strikes Talkan,
coating him with a thick green slime.
Clenching his fists, a hideous archdemon screams in rage at Talkan, and a ball
of fire erupts at his feet, briefly enveloping him.
Bowing her head and crossing her arms, a celestial archangel sends a bolt of

backwards.

A bit redundant, but priceless all the same.
Malarious, it looks like you cure every mental afflict with focus mind and don't even bother with the actual cure. This is fine.... unless you get two afflicts at once, like anorexia+stupidity from a wrathed angel hit, in those cases you tried to focusmind twice in a row, and then just sucked the anorexia or stupidity, whichever wasn't cured by the focus mind, for a long time. Far better for curing if you do the cures for each when off focusmind balance.
Talkan, when your angel was nearly dead and shielding, you used Wrath (I think?). Isn't that a bit of a waste?

Shorlen2006-12-01 22:21:03
If someone's killing your angel or demon, is it a viable tactic to order it to move out of the room for a bit? Because it's cloaked, the attacker won't know which way it went, and will waste time trying to attack it even though it isn't there. The angel/demon can sleep to heal up while out of the room (it does do that, right?).
Or is this a terrible idea, because you need your angel/demon too much?

You're welcome.
Actually, in seriousness, I generally just refuse to fight anyone who tries to kill ents. That, or I lose my ents while I rub soulless, then call them back in when I'm ready to actually attack (and if you're a guardian they should be sufficiently hindered to not be attacking your ents while you're attacking them with wrath/fool/enigma).
