hey I plan on becoming a paladin or maybe even part of the Ur' guard and I have a question?
What race would be good for both of these?
Also what about the specialization in knighthood? What are some pros and cons for them? T
Well Thanks for everything

Rather than copying and pasting my post from yesterday, most of the answers to that are here: http://forums.lusternia.com/index.php?s=&a...st&p=358422 and in other posts in that thread.
Regarding the specializations, BM and BC are better for bashing, and they allow you more vesitility, whereas PB and AL give more burst effect (hit less often, do more when they hit). BM is a very solid spec with a speciality for pinlegs which stop someone from doing anything for a while, BC has a lot of stun effects in their skills, PBs have a ton of bleeding, and ALs have a bit of a mesh of things.

Viscanti and Tae'dae are very poor warrrior races, in my opinion. Viscanti have low strength and Tae'dae are way too slow.
Otherwise I agree with Lysandus' race suggestions.

Viscanti also have a sip penalty. Tae'dae are the worst warrior race in the game by FAR, I have no idea what Lysandus was talking about.
The good warrior races are: Human, Aslaran, Merian if you're a Celestian, Elfen if you're a Serenwilder, Faeling if you're a Glomdorian, Taurian, Loboshigaru, Orclach, Krokani.
EDIT: The thread I linked in my first post included discussion of what is important in a warrior race, and why.

Viscanti and Tae'dae are poor warriors eh?
What about Daevos and Raguel? There are always exceptions.
Just be what you want to be. Play the class you think you will like the most. Simple.

Got to take into consideration Daevos has a lot of runes, not that he is a bad fighter or anything without them. I really recommend humans, worth it down the road, and you do always have a single free reincarnation.
Genevieve2006-12-01 15:25:56
Are they really worth it down the road? I'm a human Celestine, but I was thinking of changing to Merian.
Edit: I'm 73rd circle

Warrior humans are beefy. Think Ixion, even pre-titan. Human guardians might be a little less desirable. I dunno. I don't know your stats.
silimaur2006-12-01 15:33:13
human is the best race at higher levels... (from what i have seen, been told and experianced)

Terenas was a rather effective warrior as an unspecced merian in Serenwilde. Do you think he'd recommend it as a standard choice? Daevos has even said explicitly that viscanti was detrimental to him.

Shadowlord Faelings could be pretty tanky. With surge (since it takes mana and adds it to health) they can get a health that rivals or surpasses Loboshigaru health. I know, since I was a Faeling Serenguard. Surge boosted my health to an insane 5.5k at level 77. Unfortunately, am a Tracker, so no drawdown :/
Loboshigaru is fun to be as a warrior, good health and good strength, but everything else is weak. You won't be able to win (or at least without very great difficulty) ego matches, so that takes out influencing as a way to gain levels. The level two penalty to magic is especially painful.
If you want tanky go Igasho, Taurian, Orclach, or Loboshi.
If you want speed, go Faeling (Glomdoring), or Aslaran.
If you want all around good stats, go Human or Elfen.
If you're Celestian, go Merian.

As far as I know, Daevos is only Viscanti for RP reasons. He didn't think the Warlord of Magnagora should be any other race.
Daganev2006-12-01 18:13:18
Tae'dae are GREAT warriors, if you don't want to do PVP. They are really the only viable warrior race that can also influence well.
Unknown2006-12-01 19:49:35
A few addendums to other people's posts:
Daganev's: if you don't want to do PVP, EVERY race is good. I don't feel like boasting, but as an unspecced Faeling in Serenguard (one of the worst race/guild combos ever) I was able to take on abominations or how did you used to call them, which are MUCH stronger than manifestations or astral creatures.
EDIT: Influencing part: not really true. Every race can get good charisma, because there's a lot of charisma buffs in the game. Populus in rituals, Netzach in Highmagic, Beauty blessing and a personal throne (ask an artisan). Ta-dah.
Kharaen's: 5500 health is pretty lightweight for a warrior. Some people can get that much even without surge. And unspecced Faeling are REALLY sucky in terms of deepwounds damage. I suggest not taking the race.
Every race that doesn't have an equilibrium penalty can be built for speed. Just use speed weapons (which are by the way the best choice for PvE - only speed matters from *weapon stats* in here). I consider Taurian to be exceptionally good choice. Loboshigaru are fine on low levels, but get a bit weak later. Humans - the other way around, weak at first but get better and better. The suckiest races for warriors are Dwarves, unspecced everything and Tae'dae. Actually, Dwarves and Tae'dae are weak as everything. Poor Klangoru.

Charisma past 15 doesn't mean much. I don't even use my throne most of the time these days, my 16 charisma base isn't much different from the 18 charisma I'd have with the throne buff.

Unless you're going Suicidal-Samurai Harekiri-Style... Either way, I've always felt something about Orclachs being the 'perfect' warriors. It's based on nothing, just some IC feeling I get with them... -shrug-
Unknown2006-12-02 12:45:28
It's seppuku! HarAkiri is such a vulgar term...
Orclach are a good warrior race too. But I just like Taurian better. Mainly because of Enrage - +2 str weight never hurts, and that "lashing out at allies" deals pathetic, ignorable damage.
