Is anyone here as much of an Explorer Rankings whore as I am? Because I will literally go through the cartography section and check off each room explored just to make sure I don't miss any, thus increasing my rankings. Anyone else like this?

Are you kidding, Jigan?! Explorer rankings are grand fun! I feel much more competitive about the explorer rankings than I do about experience or combat rankings.

They put the rankings in because they want people to explore. People with low rankings have barely gone out and seen all the Lusternia has to offer.

I'm Seeker of Avechna or whatever. I really don't care much.

To Planeswalker i need to get into most of guild halls, check Xion, new Valley, new mountain, cathedral in presidio, Gloms arena and maybe some new rooms in cityies communes that i do not know about.
Ohh and who will let me in to some stockrooms?

I thought stockrooms didn't count.

And someday I'll go for it maybe, but I have 13 out of 21 ranks, so I'm good for now.

I hate exploring personally.

I don't think they mean much in Lusternia. Personally, I've visited almost every place in the basin, my zmud map is -very- complete and includes even most guild halls (yes explored with Aesyra back in open beta). I think the only areas I'm missing are a few aetherbubbles and the Glom GH's (and shop stockrooms if that counts)... and I'm a Cosmic Wayfarer (I've been a Messanger of the Fates in the past though).

I think Roark or Estarra once said that the rankings should reflect how much you run around not how much you have explored. Thus if you go stop zapping around like a madman you'll drop again, or so the theory. (been ages, correct me if I got that wrong.. doh)

That's not really correct. New areas open and temples etc which count, and since the rank is based on the percent of areas explored your rank can actually (and often does for lower ranks) go down.

Manses do not count.
Stockrooms do not count.
