Damn so excited about this, 2 good games now going for the movie, pretty hope they don't mess up this up as fans of both, I am so going to be pissed about that!

Prince of Persia

Final fantasy has proven movies of games can be great. I trust blizzard to make something good of it, they always manage to live up to the expectations, but somehow I can't shake of the idea of being reminded of world of whorecraft. Damn why did people link that to me in the first place and corrupted my innocent brain with it...

Prince of Persia is going to depend on how many fight scenes there are. Every time I had to stop and fight, the game got less fun; a nicely choreographed battle would be nice, but if you focus on it, it's going to suck.

Warcraft makes me wary.

I haven't yet seen Advent Children. Every other video game movie I can think of has sucked totally, including Spirits Within. *shudder*

I can't think of one good video game movie. I think Peter Jackson is also making Halo last time I heard?

Prince of Persia COULD make a good movie if they do it right, but they won't do it right.

Spirits within sucked (it was a -decent- movie, but the fact that it was titled Final Fantasy made it suck, it's like making Starship Troopers and calling it Lord of the Rings), Advent Children was good, but a bit bizzaire (that's coming from someone who calls FF7 his favorite game).

Advent Children is much better if you understand Japanese and watch the Japanese version. Significantly better. You also have to know the lore behind Cloud/Aeris/Zack. I watched it under these two conditions and I appreciated the movie a lot, especially the end. If only the game focused a little more on Cloud's past and his connection with Zack, I think the movie and the game would have tied together perfectly.

Not to mention if they talk a little more about the characters, some of my friends who doesn't know FF7 never knew who this guy in the red cape is, who's that girl with the large shurikin and who's that talking dog in the end. If they also put in more story about all FF7 characters then pretty sure it'll be a movie for fans but to all as well.

That irritates me. I liked Spirits Within, because it didn't follow any games and it showed the Square Enquix could make a damn movie. Spirits Within was still FF because of the storyline.

Anyway, I think I might enjoy Prince of Persia but I've gotta see the game played/play the game.

Spirits Within was Final Fantasy Lite. Final Fantasy 1 had probably as much plot, and was presented better. Spirits Within was a 50 hour game they contorted into a normal length movie and totally destroyed in the process.

MTG the movie would be awesome, but it'd have to be a series of them, following Urza throughout time. I seem to remember reading a book about Urza and Mishra from ye olden times, and something about him planeswalking, and creating the weatherlight... It's been about three years since I've played, so I guess I've missed that many sets too.
