Thinking about coming back - want your opinion like if my life depended on it!

Back to The Real World.

So yeah. I was recently thinking about going back to Lusternia. Obviously it didn't change in its essence while I was gone (that would be, let's face it, impossible), but a lot of new things were added, and of course there's always the RP of the whole game.
I miss Aerenna though. I know the character was probably hated (or hate-loved) by many, but I can't help it. I liked her as my character, and Lusternia just didn't have the same feel when I started to play on an alt or two. That's why they went inactive so quickly, I guess. As a side note, Aerenna was rather powerful too, it was nice to be actually able to engage in PvP.
But, life goes on. Let's cut on the emo crap. If I decide to come back, I'll probably stay away from PvP and conquesting credits. Probably. I'm no prophet to predict the future.
Opinions are welcome, but NOT wanted. Feel free to post, but these posts will not change my future choice. Hell, that'd be unassertive as... well, hell. I'll come back if I judge Lusternia is interesting enough for me to plunge back in. That - boredom, not frustration, what was had driven me away.
Actually, it's late night here and I feel like writing a few sentences before going to sleep.

Welcome back, hope you enjoy it this time.

Have a problem with emo mood swings? Glomdoring is the place for you!
No, seriously, I'd like to see you in Glomdoring. Especially since what seemed to be one of your main distastes for it - elitism - has ebbed dramatically.

Actually, my chances for joining Glommies are rather slim. I find it unsettling. I find Magnagora's living body-bridge to be amusing in a twisted sense of humour, but I don't think I can stand regurgigating carrion (crow) and doing some weird rituals which probably involve emo-cutting yourself (night).

Anyway you could Aerenna back? o_o

Why the hell should it matter what people thought about Aerenna. If you want to play a bastard, be a bastard, and don't worry about what people think. Just revel in being evil.
And join Mag.
And don't be an emo dipstick. If you come back and decide to quit, I'm not interested in hearing the details. Just suicide quietly.

From my own experience (in WoW) I can say it's not an easy task playing a character who isn't all goody and nice. Started out as a sort of IC protest against the happy snuggly perfect characters that annoyed the hell out of me, and ended up with my character being generally cold and distant against every stranger, happily waving around the fact she's a powerhungry mage. Had a ton of fun RPing it, certainly with other characters who weren't the common perfect people, but also had people getting very upset over it. Mostly people couldn't see it was all IC or they just couldn't live with the fact I didn't want to live in their perfect fantasy world. I admit it also has been a sort of a venting outlet for me, through being a bitch IC I could cope much better with bad real life feelings. In the end though things changed around in my real life and I didn't feel the need to vent anymore and it became increasingly hard to play the character as I wanted her to be. I adored her as I made her, and I couldn't change her around, so I ended up mostly retiring her. I tried making a lot of alts, and one of them I'm still playing actively now. Got the luck of finding a good guild, people who are great to roleplay with (and insane OOCly), and that is really what keeps me in the game.
So far for hijacking this thread with a little bit of personal experience. Don't know you that well, but I think I see a similarity of situations here. What I mean to say is, if you have a character you find hard to play because you're no longer really interested in that type of RP, let it rest. Sometimes characters just have to die and stay burried. If you got an idea for something new give that a go instead. It will never be the same and you'll look different against the world, but it will also shed a whole new light on things and be an opportunity to start anew while keeping old friends. And if you feel ready to play your old character again, go for it. You can find me around Magnagora, just send an IC or OOC poke in my direction. And as hard as it sometimes may be, keep the line clear between IC and OOC. Remember that just like you may upset people IC people might hate you IC, while OOCly you can be having a fun chat in whispers about how fun it is to have a go at eachother.
Best of luck on it, and as I tend to say, it ain't worth it if you ain't having fun.

Hey, you get to have plastic surgery courtesy of Night. Trust me, its fun.
And to my limited knowledge of Night, no cutting required.

As far as I'd be happy to, no. I even sent an e-mail to support@lusternia.com, and there was a polite but definitive, negative answer.

Am aware of that. Hey, my alts didn't throw a tantrum when I left them. People probably never realised who they were. And good. I hate being recognised as myself.
That sounded schizophrenic...

Just FYI, the Night teachings do not provide reason for the cutting of self. In fact, from my limited experience, they would seem to discourage it-- after all, you're far less perfect if you have a hole in your body that's leaking all kinds of blood and making a mess!
The Blacktalon, on the other hand... still needs to ditch that guild emote.

I agree. I don't mind the cutting part of the emote, but the part where it has you write a bad poem on your livejournal seems a bit much.
