Back to The Real World.

Has anybody been watching the shows on ABC Family? Y'know, all the Rankin-Bass Christmas stuff--the various Rudolph and Frosty Spin-Offs, etc? They have a few "weird ones", as somehow Harry Potter equals Christmas for some reason.

This has been a staple during my Christmas Holiday Season enjoyment. I wonder how many people also watch this stuff.

They're even bringing back some old Dr. Seuss Cartoons this week! Yay!

(And why Estarra hasn't yet created a Cold Meiser/Heat Meiser analog in the game I'll never understand tongue.gif )

I'm fairly sure the first Harry Potter movie, and possibly others as well, had Christmas-themed scenes and passages.

I miss the Garfield Christmas special

Yeah, but that doesn't make it a Christmas movie either Verithrax.

There are a couple Christmas movies I miss that used to be syndicated. One that used to play was "The Man in the Santa Claus suit", and there was a good one with Mickey Rooney called "It Came Upon a Midnight Clear" in the 80s.

At least ABC Family is keeping childhood memories alive. Today is my Birthday and now at 37, I feel a little more nostalgic in a "melancholy, longing" way. (Nostalgia was first defined as a psychological disorder, believe it or not).

Doesn't surprise me. A lot of things were considered disorders once upon a time.

And there's only four movies I HAVE to watch during the holidays or it doesn't really feel like the holidays: National Lampoons Christmas Vacation, A Christmas Story, Micacle on 34th Street and It's A Wonderful Life.

I never consider Christmas Vacation a "classic". huh.gif

A Christmas Story is funny, but overrated. And I really hate that commercial that exploits it for a cell phone company. Bah.

It's a Wonderful Life. Believe it or not, I only saw this movie in 1998 or 1999 for the first time. I never was a fan of the old "Black and White" Christmas movies, or even old movies in general, but I've warmed up to them. I remember seeing IAWL the first time because a few days before watching it the first time I saw the end episode of Babylon 5, "Sleeping in Light", so I forgot the exact year.

Miracle on 34th Street--I still haven't ever watched the original in its entirety. I've seen the John Hughes Remake though.

I wish they would show the California Raisin's claymation christmas special. We have it on VHS from the 80's but you know how those tapes get. Hopefully my parents are buying the DVD for us this year though tongue.gif.

I miss the old Peanuts christmas movie or the Charlie Brown and Friends Christmas Movie or something along those lines. Also remember the smurf christmas. And yes, I remember Rainbow Brite (Bright) christmas special where she and her friends came together and saved christmas from some mad evil genius guy.

...no richter. dry.gif you weren't in the movie... wub.gif

Oh. And the Care Bears Save Christmas. wub.gif
