Using rescue to escape barrier and enemies by sucking in a noncombatant to die just seems a bit odd. I suggest rescue require full health/mana/ego and no afflictions to use.

I don't think some mechanical change to rescue is needed. I do think his guild needs to consider the actions of their champion. If I were in the guild, I would be demanding an explanation for his actions and considering his words carefully.

I thought you were actually joking when you said that last night Narsrim. I didn't really think he did it. (I was lagdead for 5 mins so I missed it)

I am actually appalled by that. I cannot believe he did that to save himself. I mean I have laughed with Ethelon about doing it to him when he was in his manse reading scrolls and -poof- he is fighting 10 people. But I wouldn't even do it to a skilled combatant. Because I would be worried that I would be breaking the rules of what the helm is actually used for.
Rescue is not Rescue Myself, It is geared to rescue your novices/new combatants. And that right there was actually way out of line. When put in a position of power, we should not abuse it this way.
Yeah, I would definately not be a GC if I rescued myself by grabbin a noncombatant/novice to be my meatshield. I would expect Morgfyre to have some words with me for dishonoring his order (since we don't act like that) and Fain to knock me around since he is the guild patron.
Also, isn't Forren the head of Terentia's order? That shouldn't shine well on her Order now too.
My goodness it is as if he is using it as some form of Divine Havens to save his Titan level, at the expense of others.

Funny how first you complain that Forren used Rescue to switch places with a non-combatant, THEN you proceed to pound that non-combatant yourself. You too should feel ashamed for acting so low.
HOWEVER, what Forren did was against the rules. Yes, I mean it. Issuable. Rescue should NOT be used for reasons other than rescuing other guildmembers. Daevod and Alger got into SERIOUS trouble for abusing rescue to kill dwarves in Rockholm about a year ago. It isn't much different here, with the exception that Rockholm counted as enemy territory and as such blocked teleport attempts.

I think Geb is correct, it's more of an in-game ethical consideration than anything else.

Actually he hit her one time, and she then decided to attack Veonira. I also saw her later on Celestia. So I wouldn't say so much as a non-combatant now that I think about it, but still she is no were on par with who she was summoned into by her Guild Champion.

I don't know Richter, I don't think it is solely ethical. I mean it doesnt say that rescue may be used to rescue yourself from dire situations. And what was done here seems more like abuse than ethical.
If it was solely ethical, hell Ildaudid has no ethics. So I should start doing this all the time to people in my guild who need to learn to fight more. But I really think that one crossed the line.

I seriously doubt you would be Champion for long if you started doing that. I would hope your guild would see fit to remove you for such cowardice. If not, then your guild would be getting what they deserved by letting you remain their Champion.

Agreed, and you know just because Ildaudid has no ethics, doesn't mean he would actually make his little guardsmen learn to fight by savin his own arse.
You know me better than that Geb

1. this belongs in idiots
2. we shall need to punch Forren in the head with the full covenant written on the heaviest thing in Lusternia (which I'm guessing is the megalith, or possibly the serpent now)

That was me. I'm not complaining about dying because well...I was trying to help defend. I don't know much at all about it, to be honest. All I know was one minute I was wondering around trying to find Forren's group, and the next I was standing in a room full of enemies. What would you have me do, stand there and not fight back with my tiny little attacks? I fought back and died in seconds. It was fun. At any rate, Forren wasn't trying to abuse it. He explained what happened to me though I didn't much get it because I don't understand the workings of combat yet. It was an accident. He wouldn't do that to a guild novice. He's her mentor and has certainly went out of his way trying to help teach Wynnara.
So, no jumping to conclusions. It often makes you look silly.

Actually, He did abuse it, and he knows exactly what rescue does. Basically this is what happened. Forren was having his arse handed to him. He did not want to die once again, so he used you as a rescue point. He then "rescued himself" instead of using the artifact the way it was intended. This gave him time to heal some while you died, and he could then try to port back into the fight. It being an accident is highly unlikely since you have to type "rescue Wynnara"
You can believe whatever he feeds you, and try to defend him all you want. But champion artifact abuse is abuse, and he just showed that he would do anything to try and get to Demi-god and not lose exp, even at the expense of his fellow aquamancers.
Again, Jessa we are not saying that you did anything wrong at all. What we are saying is that he did. And exploiting a system that is meant to be used to rescue others, not yourself IS what this thread is about. It is not about you thinking it is ok that he did it. It is that he is not ALLOWED to do it, not to save himself. If anything, he should have rescued you from that room, not rescued himself out of that room.

I don't think people had a problem with you fighting back, they had a problem with a Titan with IG years of fighting experience sending in a near-novice (in terms of combat) to take their place so they wouldn't die. And even though you are okay with it, which I'm glad you're not feeling a bit miffed, it's just that champions usually don't do (or aren't supposed to do) things like this. If Revan did this to me even now, I would so ing beat the out of him until he was at ing Newton. And unless he has his aliases mixed up for RESCUE (PERSON) with something that has a similar syntax, it's hard to be an accident, more like bad judgement - and it was clearly his intention since he was summoning your character back out (or teleporting back in according to Illy's theory).
But he's only done it once, won't do it again, and the person it was done to didn't mind, so it's not that much of a big deal in the end. Only if he keeps it up.

Granted, I get along fine with Forren, and I wouldn't issue him over it. But if I was an aquamancer, I sure as hell wouldn't want him as my guild champion now.... I don't want to die because he needs a meatshield while he heals. So young Aquamancers without conglute, be careful when on the same plane as your guild champion, you may have to pray so that he can reach Demigod.
