I thought it'd be interesting to see people's setups at home of either their computers, thier entertainment centers, etc. As an example, I have my 27 inch TV, with my modem and router underneath, and on either side are towers with an NES, SNES, N64, PS2, Xbox 360, and a Wii. The laptop usually sits *gasp* on top of my lap, while I'm on the couch in front of the TV. If I track down my camera, I'll take a picture.

So lets see your Room of Doom, and how they stack up in design or elite-ness. biggrin.gif

This was actually an idea spawned off of reading an old EGM, or something, where they had a section about people's rooms. Was just interested to see how people play Lusternia or console games. I'm not actually rich, I just play a character that is.

Hmm, I have two of my 3 pcs in this room, and 4 feet to my left is my tv (no idea of the size, nice size, but not amazing), with my 360, my DVD player with the surround sound, and my xbox underneath. And of course my DVDs and games scattered all about the room. Might get this tomorrow to replace my DVD player/surround sound because I got it free, and only 4/5 speakers work, and its been awhile since I've bought myself anything more expensive then a game.

Desk, with a computer (Wireless router, ADSL modem, computer tower itself, monitor and input devices.) A micro-mini boob tube nearby for the rare occasions when I actually care to watch TV. Old computer lying around somewhere still, not properly wired.Shelves loaded with books within walking distance.

Don't need anything else. smile.gif

Pictures, anyone?
Jigan2006-12-27 17:35:55
No pictures here, but....

(As if viewed from above)

Upper left hand corner: Door.
Middle top: T.V., gamecube, SNES, and DVD player. (T.V. broken for blue screen only)
Upper right hand corner: Library shelves
Lower left hand corner: Bed, set so I can face the door as I slept without turning.
Lower right hand corner: Computer desk set so I can watch both the door, bed, and T.V. And library shelves.

Paranoid? Slightly. Considering I have a katana at the head of my bed and a longsword at the base of the bed.

Holy shitake.

Did he raid an EB games or something, good lord. How do you even have time to PLAY all of those, I barely have time to play one game a year.

As for my personal room, I have my desktop and my laptop just hangs out wherever there's room, and a gamecube hooked up to the TV next to me. Downstairs we have our N64, xbox and PS2 hooked up, and the playstation is in my brother's room. Everything's sort of dispersed as everyone plays games.

You can read his FAQ.... however to do so you have to do View source code, and parse out the bad css code smile.gif

Anyway his collection is over 20 years old. He never spends more than $100 a month on the collection. Many of the games he has bought just to own and never played.

So in truth, he is no different then those guys who collect Barbies, stamps, cards...

He seems to me to be a normal guy who likes collecting video games. Of course, keep the liberal nut jobs away from that room... he will soon be accused of everything that is wrong with our country...

It would definitely help if the text actually showed up on his site, heh.

I have three desks in my living room, two of them are set up together to form a corner unit, and a drafting table is over there. That is the desk set up with my laptop dock. Next to that is my other desk, which has four flat screen monitors, 19inchs, my word processing computer (I built it myself, too proud of it to get rid of it) and my slag pile while is going to be replaced by a loaded out Gateway.

Perpendicular to the desk is my fluffy comfy couch, facing a flatscreen and my Panasonic 7.1 Theater System... and my Xbox 360 and that is about it. Hardwood floors in need of a shine, and a a box of games next to the cabinet with my DVD player, sound system box, TiVo.

hmmm, my room. Well, aside from the mountains of empty mountain dew cans and candy wrappers, there are basically two desks, a dresser, and a bed. One desk has my ancient 19" tv, complete with 2 VCR's,(one broken), a semi-busted PS2, and a busted PS1. On desk number 2, there is my laptop, an am/fm radio, a surge protector, and 3 years worth of trash. No pictures due to embarrassment.
