The recent talk about the ascension blessings brought to mind a question about buffs and damage to creatures that I have. Someone may have answered this already but I couldn't find it!
I have had the knowledge blessing for bashing creatures before, and was not far off having enough karma to get another before burning it to weaken the seals. Is the knowledge blessing included in the buffs system, and am I therefore better off getting the war blessing for damage?
I tend to bash when I can use the dolphin sphere in astrology, and drawdown, so I have 19int. With Knowledge I think I have 20 int, but I can't remember exactly. Am I right in thinking the War blessing is +10% damage? If so War would seem the better choice. Has anyone done any testing?
Also roughly how is moonburst/nature curse damage calculated. Is there a base damage of a certain amount, or say I have 10 int and get +2 int will i be doing exactly 20% more damage than before?

War is 10%, yes.
Intelligence bonuses are not uniform for all magic skills. It affects nature curse more than cudgel. I've heard its effect on nightkiss is similar to cudgel, but higher for moonbeam, but all of this is second-hand, and I've learned to question other people's numbers. (Every envoy I know still insists that you get three moves per second. I'm convinced they don't walk very fast.)
Intelligence damage modifiers appear to be an arithmetic progression from 12 applied after resistance/weakness, but before artifact/war/astrology damage buffs and damage-reducing defs like halo or magic proofing. That's a mouthful, but to simplify it a bit...let's say moonburst does a base damage of 500. I have no idea what the real number is. You have trans moon, which adds, let's say, 10%, so now you're at 550. You hit a tae'dae, which is worth another 30%, so now you're at 715. Your int is 20, and we'll say moonburst's int modifier is 6%. ((20-12)*.06+1)*715=1058. The tae'dae has a maiden anti-magic blessing, which drops it by 15%, so now you're at 899. Presto!
NB: All above numbers are fictitious, barring tae'dae magic weakness.

Hmmm, interesting, but that just raises an additional question. Do the base skills in the Skills pools still increase the level of any skills in the other ones in that pool.
For instance does having Trans Magic and/or Trans Lowmagic have any effect on my moon skills which are also in the Arcana pool? I'm sure I read something to that effect some time ago. Although it is entirely possible I imagined the whole thing.
I think I shall go for War Blessing next time anyway.

Apparently they are ment to. I read the same thing but I don't think the difference would be that amazing and try and find someone who's even able to test it.
