From the website:

Seal of Chaos
Date: January 1, 2006
Time: 12 Noon PST (3:00 p.m. PST/1900 GMT) <--- this is the confusing part

So, is this event going on at 12 noon PST OR 3:00 PM PST?

Not to mention that both of these times ARE NOT 19:00 (or 7 PM) GMT. 12 Noon is 8 PM GMT, 3:00 PM PST is 11 PM GMT.

When is it then?

3pm est, which is according to the lusternia time clock, 1900 GMT.

Now, you have to go off the lusternia time clock, cuase if you go off the imperian time clock it will be 20 minutes later, and if you go off your own clock its different also.

Okay, so it's 3 PM EST, noon PST. We have that part solved.

But it's EIGHT (minor fix, friggin' lag) PM GMT, not nine! It's 9:00 PM for the european mainland!

From HELP GMT:
QUOTE
If you are in:

England GMT
Europe GMT, GMT+1
South America GMT -5 to GMT -3
USA/EAST GMT -5
USA/WEST GMT -8

And Lusternian GMT is the same as the normal GMT. I mean, of course it's possible that it's 20:11 at my GMT while it's, for example, 20:03 at Lusternian GMT, but NOT 21:03.

Ack, that means I have to wake up at a decent time tomorrow for it. tongue.gif

I don't know why but time zones always get me confused. I live in PST so always assume that the world revolves around PST.

Yes, its noon PST for the Great Hamster Hunt.

Hrm! Everyone knows the world revolves around GMT. And I don't even live in GMT.

Okay, kidding.

I can become Lusternia's official time converter if you want. I won't mind.

So.. what time will it be in GMT?
GMT makes my life easy. Just need to convert AM to PM or PM to AM then take an hour off.
Unknown2006-12-31 21:47:54
The event should start at 20:00 Teatime Time (GMT), and 21:00 Bratwurst Time (GMT +1). 8 and 9 PM, respectively.
Arix2007-01-01 00:27:37
I live in the Southwestern US, what time would it be there?
Noola2007-01-01 00:54:53
My time awareness revolves around US Central. I have to look up a timezone converter to figure anything else. GMT confuses me. laugh.gif

It's gonna be 2pm for me which is great... I can sleep late (and I will!) and still make the event! Yay! cheer.gif

In the name of sanity, I present this handy little web site.

The link should direct you straight to the "California" page, where you can just plug in a date and time, and it'll let you select from a huge drop down menu of other places in the world, and give you the corresponding date and time for that location.

Well, Microsoft Windows defaults to that time zone during installation, so you are not alone. tongue.gif

So how long will the challenge run for? An hour? Two hours?

Good luck everyone.

I'm pretty sure I've lost this one. sad.gif I can't navigate the game well without my zmud map, and it won't load for me. I even pulled it out of my email again, re-downloaded 7zip to unzip it, and now I can't figure out how to load the map. That, plus the fact that getting the hamster from someone means killing them, and I'm no good at combat. Pity most of the tasks to become an RP god involve killing people.
Richter2007-01-01 20:36:25
Actually, you could probably give them a hamster, nevermind.
Genevieve2007-01-01 21:02:00
Congrats Shorlen.

I thought I would ask here, since I didn't want to start a new thread and my question is somewhat relevant with the topic. If these questions have been asked and answered, my apologies.

How did it come to be that the chaos seal was obtained through a hamster. Did chaos choose the hamster to embody itself? Did the hamster eat a piece of the seal? Why would chaos choose a hamster of all things? I understand the want to combine an existing game that people enjoy with some of this ascendeding god crap, I just can't understand the RP of how chaos comes from a hamster.
