These were added a few months ago in Achaea. I thought it would be very neat if we could have it too.
SHOW LESSONS IN (skill)
-shows how many lessons you've put into a particular skill.
SHOW LESSONS LEFT IN (skill)
-shows how many lessons you still need to put into a particular skill to transcendant it.

I think it should be right there at AB (additional column(s) with appropriate numbers) instead of separate commands.
Rika2007-01-01 02:25:02
Well, that would just be totally perfect, but we one step at a time!

Well, Imperian does it the way Kashim said, and it's REALLY nice.

What's wrong with just learning your lessons, Achaea has had many changes lately, most of which pointless, SHOW LESSONS IN whatever is one, as is DISTANCE TO NoT or whatever. POINTLESS.
Should be upgrading races/guilds not farting around with stupid show lessons in whatever, that's what inept, adept, skilled etc is for.
/semi-rant.

Kaenyte2007-01-01 04:57:23
I wouldn't say it's pointless. It takes some of the guesswork out, and helps people (or at least me) plan what to do with their lessons, i.e. whether or not a purchase of X credits will trans a skill.

K, I admit defeat, BUT, wouldn't you prefer admin etc to revamp races or guilds other than silly little things like SHOW?

Another racial revamp isn't going to happen, even though viscanti, tae'dae, and dwarves could really use it. Igasho could use a tiiiiny bit of help too.
Guild revamps are done through the Envoys (classleads), so the admins don't really work on that except when they're processing an Envoy report.

Surely other things are more important than show? I dunno what world events are like here, but they could get more gods dedicating time to keep a more roleplay-esque (new word) environment? I'll just keep shush on this one.
Vix2007-01-01 05:43:29
Our roleplay environment doesn't need fixing like in Achaea.
I'd actually like this added. It's such a pain to figure out how many lessons I've put in and it'd suck to "waste" lessons. I'm a very calculating person on things like this.

Acrune2007-01-01 06:24:33
I imagine implementing things such as this would be much faster then fixing balance issues. Making a command to show the lessons would probably take 5-10 minutes tops, though I obviously haven't seen the code.
Unknown2007-01-01 07:26:23
Guess it's fine for convenience, but I think the ASK command we got works just fine already.
For those who don't know what I'm talking about, ASK will cause an NPC tutor to send you a tell giving the percentage of the way you are towards the next rank in a skill. Just use that in conjunction with this page from avaerin's wiki and you can do an accurate estimate in your head easily.
For those who don't know what I'm talking about, ASK

Very true. Achaea doesn't need fixing, though. It needs a bloody miracle. Estarra, if you would do the honors?

I don't think Eris returning would be enough

I use the scrying pool wiki to calculate lessons and credits and such nearly every day I play. I'd much rather have the ability to simply use one command to instantly show me the precise numbers instead.
Ildaudid2007-01-01 08:34:28
some clans have skill charts, some guilds have them and some cities have them, someone can post them if they want.
Genevieve2007-01-01 09:54:03
Our guild has them. I'm surprised every one doesn't.
Anarias2007-01-01 10:25:29
Generally every guild does have something like that. Its still not nearly as good as getting the information firsthand from the code itself.

NO! ESTARRA IS OURS AND OURS ALONE!
Estarra

Also useful when you're not at a teacher but learning from another player. You can't even ask for your percent at that moment.
