Forging accident, or bug?

Hey there.

My friend was forging a sword, a gold sword, and she forgot to take it out of the forge before she smelted down a steel longsword. When she smelted down the steel longsword, she got the commodities for the longsword, but the gold sword was gone, and there were no commodities left over as if it were smelted, too. It seems it's just vanished.

Is this normal, or is this a bug, and should she report it?

Thanks.

Bug it, and erase what you posted with an edit.

Don't bug it. Whenever you smelt something while something else is in the forge, the something else is gone forever.

Edited for typos (twice, I'm an idiot)

And what makes the fact that this happens not a bug? blink.gif

Because it makes sense?

Why would a metal design survive if you put something else on top of it? If anything, they should both be destroyed. Also, forging more than one thing at once would probably be "imbalancing" or something - I'm sure there's a legitimate excuse, besides realism.

But you should at least get the comms as if they were both smelted, at the very least an extra message. That's the part that doesn't make sense.

Yes, let's just act like normal when people mess up. smile.gif

Forging aliases/triggers. Easy to make, (usually) they prevent stuff like this. And yes, that's what forging has come to.

Yeah, it should be a bug, but it's not.

I guess that after two years, we can classify it as one of those little things that seems like it would be ridiculously easy to fix, but under the hood turn out to be part of the keystone for half the Lusternian code structure.

He's about a bit. I tried to jump him the other day when he was clearing out my catacombs.
